What is MacICC
MacICC is Internet Chess Client for Macintosh.
If you are not familiar with ICS (Internet Chess Server) check out
www.freechess.org
for more information.
System Requirements : MacOs 8.0+, PPC, OpenTrasport (prefered) or MacTCP
Note:
- It should work on earliest versions of MacOS, as well...
- I didn't test MacICC with MacTCP or on MacOS early than 8.0 ;-)
- If you're using telephone dial-up you should establish connection
to your provider first (using FreePPP for example),
and launch MacICC after that.
Before you start
This is demo version of MacICC and it's free.
If you like it you can help make it better. There are a lot of features to add, but I would
like to hear from you which ones are more important. Also, please let me know if you have
any problem using that application. Any ideas and suggestions are
welcome.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any volunteer who would help me with the chess pieces design.
The current bundle comes with two unfinished sets. If you would like you can
design your own
chess pieces or board pattern. I will very appreciate
if you would contribute them for future versions.
MacICC doesn't have "TimeSeal" yet. I would appreciate any help with adding
this functionality.
This client was oriented on www.freechess.org server.
Note, other ICC servers may have slightly different comand interface. It is possible to adjust
client for particular server as long as interface grammar remains the same.
Contact us if you you're interested in support
of some specific server.
In future MacICC might be a shareware. If it happens everyone who has helped me on this
first step will have a free registration.
