Topic: PGN support in CIR and CIE

Hi there,
I am curios why there is inconsistency in PGN format between Chessbase, Chess Assistant nad CI... When I export a game in PGN from CIR or CIE it can not be read in Chessbase because of missing assesment signs. I think this is area in which CIE and CIR could be improved. PGN is well defined standard and if CI pretends to be a great chess product you must follow this standard.
Another field for improvenet: why we buyers of all the packages of Chess Informants do not have rights to export games in PGN or HTML from all publications? Currently it is possible only up to volume 88.
And one more problem. I discovered that after 2-3 months of use of CIE or CIR the database is crashed and the program must be reinstalled, which is annoying.

How does one export a game or a publication from CIR to a pgn file?

From CIR it is impossible. You can do that from CIE

We should forget about Chess Informator electronic editions. These guys from Informator are mainly interested in making money - not in supporting users. Why can't I export pgn-files from the Informator CD's 89-91? It's money!. They want us users to force to buy the Informators a second time as pgn-files. They want to cheat us. Boycott them. Buy other - and better! - stuff!

When attempting to export a game in PGN format, the resulting file size is 0 bytes -- nothing gets written! The programmers of the Chess Informant Expert have some bug fixing to do. When a program says it will do something and it doesn't speaks of a very deficient QA staff. Obviously, something like this should have been caught a long time ago before Chess Informant gave it to their customers to use. I have a hard-copy of CI 91 and it talks about CI Expert 6.0 being available. However, I cannot find it on the www.sahovski.com site. Hmmm...

One gets empty results when trying to export publications which are not meant to be exported. CIE 5.x allows you to export only games in CI 1-88. Take a look at user manual for details.

Why the CIE limitation of exporting games only in Informants 1-88? Why aren't Informants 89 and higher also supported?
