Silver Style Entertainment has released new screenshots from the US version of The Fall: Last Days of Gaia, showcasing the post-apocalyptic RPG/tactical game released by Deep Silver in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The US version includes two new maps, a lot of new features, quests and characters, better graphics and some new voice actors.

Update: the file turns out to be corrupt so it has been removed (thanks: The Patches Scrolls).

Frogster Interactive today announced that Stalin Subway is Gold for Germany and that it will ship on December 8th (thanks Blues). The Stalin Subway is a first-person shooter where the player will visit the most prominent sights and secret underground objects of Moscow, like the existent subway stations, a secret military subway line and suburban catacombs. The game is already available in Russia, while for the rest of the world release is scheduled during Q1 2006.




Matrix Games Signs Battleground Europe

Matrix Games and Playnet today announced they obtained the rights for distributing World War II Online: Battleground Europe in the US, via the Matrix Games Online Store. The game world of Battleground Europe is set in the years 1940 through 1942 and includes Belgium, Luxembourg and parts of Holland, Germany, France and England, with the current game map measuring over 354,000 square miles and featuring more than 36,000 strategic objects such as factories, city buildings, bunkers and bridges placed among 4,000+ facilities in 450 cities and towns. Release is scheduled for mid-December, 2005.

Super X Studios announced that their publishing agreement with Digital Jesters Limited for Wild Earth has been terminated. "It has come to our awareness that the company we signed with, Digital Jesters Limited, will not be able to fulfill its publishing role as its staff and assets are being subsumed by the new DJ Group publishing company. We wish them well on their new venture but as of this moment we are looking to place Wild Earth, which is now completed, with another publisher".

From the University of Southern California's Division of Interactive Media comes Cloud, a game where players must drag, collect and unleash clouds to make specified patterns or even their own. Cloud offers a soothing sound track and players fly over a bunch of islands while collecting and re-arranging clouds. The developers at USC are going to enter the Independent Games Festival Student Showcase in hopes of maybe taking home a prize for Cloud. The game and its instruction booklet are downloadable from our download archives.

The five winning movies of the annual BlizzCon have been added to our download archive. In these five movies, players have combined in-game footage of World of Warcraft with original music and in-game music to create some true masterpieces. The five winners each received a NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6800 Ultra, 2 Tickets to BlizzCon, Free Year of World of Warcraft and some other World of Warcraft goodies. Besides the Video Contest, there was also a Fan Art Contest, an Original Song Contest, a Costume Contest, a Dance-Alike Contest and a Leveling Contest.

CDV Software has released a playable demo of Hammer & Sickle, allowing you to try out this new tactical role playing game set in the Silent Storm universe. The game features a non-linear story where you are a Soviet undercover agent who finds himself caught in the middle of an escalating confrontation between the intelligence services of the world's superpowers. The game offers a whole single world in which you can move back and forth though all zones freely - events taking place in one zone can affect developments in others. To reach your goals, you must buy weapons, hire soldiers, get information, even bribe the local criminal syndicate or police. Developed by Nival Interactive, Hammer & Sickle will be available in North America on December 5th, and in the UK on February 24th 2006.

Our Starcraft Ghost gallery was updated with new screenshots, illustrating this tactical-action game is in the works at Swingin' Ape Studios. There will be usual multiplayer modes, such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill, along with an entirely new game mode: Capture the Base. The game, previously developed by Nihilistic Software, will be available for PS2 and Xbox in the first half of 2006.
