Why Bobby Doesn't Go Camping
"I remember other Scouts like Bobby," Mike told Sue. "They seemed so eager at the beginning. Then, they skipped campouts. It wasn't long before they stopped attending the troop meetings, too. Nothing I tried could get them interested in camping. I never could figure out why."
How Big of a Problem?
Just how big of a problem is bed-wetting in the Boy Scouts of America? While we can’t say for sure, we here at SCOUTER Magazine have just got to wonder how many boys are really missing out on great Scouting because of it. How many kids just won’t go on overnights because they are bed-wetters? How many of them would not even dream of going away to Scout camp or on a high-adventure trip?
And of those bed-wetters who are bold enough to camp out despite their problem, how many of them are ridiculed by other Scouts or, even worse, hassled by ignorant leaders for something that they cannot control? On our staff, some of us have been leaders for Scouts who have been bed-wetters, and we have had to learn with those boys and their families how to make Scouting fun and emotionally safe for them.
This site is dedicated to helping those Scouts and leaders get the most out Boy Scouts. Available is an article about bed-wetting treatment.
