Description:
The problem:
The palm's default auto-off period can be too short: You read an e-book, consult a map, or just show someone a picture, and the palm powers off because of inactivity!

The are several programs to make the auto-off timer to last longer (or disable it), but none of them restore it back to normal after you manually turn off the palm - now imagine what happens if the palm powers on in your pocket (an alarm, or accidental press) - if it won't power off automatically after a few minutes, your battery could drain and you might lose data...

My Solution:
AutoOffExtender is probably the simplest application you'll ever use: it has NO ICON to show-up on your launcher screen, and it has NO INTERFACE at all, it works automatically - whenever your palm is turned off (by you or by itself) it will set the auto-off timer to palm's default of 2 minutes.

Now, imagine that you watch your palm and it suddenly turns off in front of your eyes - surely, you power it on again quickly to get it back, and AutoOffExtender *automatically* detects if the palm was off for less than 5 seconds - if so, it will extend the auto-off timer period to 12 minutes, giving you much more time to look at your palm without touching the screen/buttons before it turns off again.

However, when it does turn off (by you, or after the 12 minutes of inactivity), it will restore the timer back to the safe period of 2 minutes.

Compiled w/PP - for more credits and help PLEASE read the supplied text file.

This is and PRELIMINARY version - it might not work like you expect, so please make sure to follow the instructions on the text file in case of trouble, before you give up.

Thank you all and Enjoy! :-) Please note: If you copy the PRC to your palm not by HotSync (e.g., from a card), you need to do a simple Soft-Reset to your palm, to activate AutoOffExtender! (it is all in the text file...:)

An excellent idea, pitty it does not work on my TH55. The programmer is more than helpful, and will resolve the current issues without any doubt. That's why I give it 3 stars, even though I can't use it.
