Description:
Create backups of your palm COMPLETELY (short of the ROM files though)!! It will archive the backups according to dd-mm-yy, and allow you to Recover from them! Much like a Restore point!
Never panic when you lose your palm data ever again as long as you backup frequent enough, just do a recover, and everything goes back in.. as though you have never crashed!

- ALL PAST USERS of BackupXfer, Please download this new version! A recovery bug where you restore point cannot be found has been fixed! This update fixes that!

- Had some complains about undetection of Serial port connectins. so i changed the way the serial port is registered. This release should be a little more stable in terms of COM port detection.
- Took out the PGUI program to reduce download time or else the download file would be very big.

- made use of the Pilot-Xfer -u option to create update function if the day's archive is detected This will make the pilot backup faster instead of re-backing up everything.
- removed the dependence on the rm (remove program) file. hopefully this would resolve some DLL errors most people experience. The DLL is still in the distribution.

- changed the archive format to yy-mm-dd to facilitate sorting
- improved cleaning up procedure before the next backup.
- Setup has 1 more option to display the number of restore points to show. either 1-10, 99 for all

I have used backupxfer for some time now and it has never failed me. My palm developed a fault which caused a hard reset so losing all data. Restore did what it says on the box. After a restore I set my next hot sync so that Outlook will over write the palm. This product works!

Another option is to use one of the many Backup to SD, MMC or Memory Stick cards and then use BlueSync to synchronize all the files with your PC. This way your data is extra safe from hard resets and also from loss of your device.

No comment on this version. There is a (non) freeware that does excellent backups called PalmBuddy. It will only work with serial Palms (with or without USB adapter). It also can do installs and translations and can back up stuff from ROM. Another utility (not sure if it is here) is called BackupAll which is freeware. All it does is override all the backup bits on the Palm and touch all the applications which will cause the Backup conduit on your Palm to back up a new copy of everything. Finally, if you have a memory stick or SD equipped Palm, you might want to try BackupBuddy:VFS (Blue Nomad software) or McFile. Which will do backups to your memory stick/sd card. Both of these are freeware. Hope this helps...
