Mercedes Benz Truck Racing (c) THQ Ok, yet another racing game. We've been racing on all kinds of cars, motorbikes, starships, this time we gotta drive a truck. Nice intro at the beginning, skip a couple menus and u can choose practice mode or cup. Let's go straight to the real race... no dumbass practice. I Select a kewl red truck among the bunch available, and fast we are on the track at Zolder (Belgium). Graphics are actually very nice, you can see the screenshots at 640X480 with minimum details and no 3D shadows. The game needs a lot of memory to run smooth. Driving feeling is proper, the race is not fast, but you really struggle to keep the vehicle inside the track. Don't even try to brake on turns or you'll be out in the green (look at the screenshot indeed), the game-play is more about controlling than being fast. Overall impression:
Graphics: 8.5/10 Graphics are very nice, screen looks "flat" on the track, but this is normal for racing games, maybe driving in a city would make everything look better, though at a first glance it looks like there are only real racing tracks available. Playability: 8/10 State of the art in this genre is NFS in my opinion, but this one looks pretty nice, it's hard to keep the truck on the road though truck movements are well-done. Overall: 8/10
