Sony PlayStation 3 Showcased.
Sony Computer Entertainment today unveiled PlayStation 3 during a conference in California. Prototypes of PS3 will also be showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this week, so be sure you don't miss their booth. We have a batch of screenshots with the hardware from any angle and a press release detailing what seem to be some very impessive the specs. The console features a Cell processor, a graphics processor (RSX) co-developed by NVIDIA and SCEI and XDR memory developed by Rambus. It also adopts BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc ROM) with maximum storage capacity of 54 GB (dual layer). Release date - Spring 2006.
