Downloading and Installing
the Chess Informant Software and
Chess Informant Electronic Books |

| Chess
Informant
has developed two software products specially designed for reading any of
the Chess Informant electronic books. In order to read Chess Informant
EE editions, it is necessary to download any of the Chess Informant
Software.
Each of the following links
contains description as well as the instructions on how to download and
install the specified software along with Frequently Asked Questions to
help you easily glide across the electronic world of Chess Informant.
Finally, there is a preview
of Trademark Sections from the latest volume of Chess Informant Edition
that could be viewed online and/or downloaded for free.

Informant Expert
Chess Informant
Expert 5.1
is a new software tool fully compatible with all the previous versions
of Chess Informant Reader and all Chess Informant electronic
publications with significantly improved graphical user interface.
It has been specially designed to display Chess Informant games
and trademark sections, as well as to simultaneously handle PGN
and CIR database files (searchable and sortable by multiple criteria).
In order to be able to download and install any of the Chess Informant
electronic books, you have to be registered user of the full version
of the Chess Informant Expert program.
If you have registered that version of the program already, go to step
4. If not, start from the step 1.
Step
1.
Download the full version of the Chess Informant
Expert Lite.
Version 5.1 (Build
0.57)
Step 2.
Install the Chess Informant Expert Lite
on your computer.
You can do it this way:
- run CIEsetup.exe and follow the instructions on the screen.
Step 3.
Register your version of the Chess Informant
Expert Lite.
To find out how to do it, read the help item "Registering the program"
of the Chess Informant Expert Lite. Registering the program you
will automatically become a member of the Chess Informant Internet
Club (CIIC). When we receive your registration form, we shall send
you back your CIIC userid and password. You will refer to your CIIC userid
whenever you order any of our products, which will automatically give
you discounts available at the moment.
Step 4.
Go to the Chess Informant Online Shop
and buy Chess Informant electronic books you want.
After entering the shop click on the "Register" button. In the
field "Userid" of the dialog-window displayed type your CIIC
userid and in the field "Password" the password you received
from us. This will allow you to get discounts given to the members of
the Chess Informant Internet Club. In the shortest possible time (i.e.
as soon as your payment is confirmed), we shall send you an e-mail with
detailed guide how to download and install bought electronic books. The
books could be installed only on one desktop computer, the one from which
you registered the Chess Informant Expert Lite. Additional
installations available on request.
Step 5.
Activation of Chess Informant Expert 5.1 full version
After the downloading of CIEsetup.exe is successfully completed it is
necessary to go to Chess Informant Online Shop and purchase Chess
Informant Expert 5.1 full version. As soon as your payment is confirmed,
you will receive your activation key through e-mail address.
Note
for users of Chess Informant Expert 4.0 or 4.1 full version. In
order to upgrade your software to version 5.1 you need to do the following:
buy the upgrade and you will receive the new activation key; download
the lite version of Chess Informant Expert 5.1; uninstall
the version 4.0 or 4.1; install the version 5.1 and activate it with the
key you have received.
Note for users of Chess Informant Expert 5.0 full
version. In order to upgrade your software to version 5.1 you need to
do the following: download the lite version of Chess Informant
Expert 5.1 and you will receive the new activation key; uninstall
the version 5.0; install the version 5.1 and activate it with the key
you have received.

Informant Reader
In order to be able
to download and install any of the Chess Informant electronic books,
you have to be registered user of the full version (version 1.0 or higher)
of the Chess Informant Reader program.
If you have registered that version of the program already, go to step
4.

To open other
PGN files it is necessary to activate CIR 2.1+. To activate
advanced hidden menus and functions it is necessary to purchase CIR
2.1+ from your distributor or place your order in Chess Informant
Online Shop. As soon as we process your order, you will receive
an activation key, as well as some additional information that will
facilitate the installation of the upgraded version of the program. |

versions of CIR have already been installed, it is recommended
to choose a different folder for the
installation of the latest version. |

and later versions are both installed, they operate completely parallel,
and independently. |

to reinstall the former, already installed, bases? |

version with the old activation keys. |

Install Chess
Informant Reader on both of your computers. Register software
from both of them by choosing the Registry option in your Internet

76-80 CD in PGN format" is compatible with and can be read by
all other chess software. Furthermore, Chess Informant Reader
can "communicate" with other chess software through clipboard. CIR
