I've just tried a test backup & restore on my T3. Seems to have worked flawlessly.

* [Oct 31, 2005] by MEEE
When trying to restore my Tungsten e I got the error that my palm had no memory left, so I had to restore using a file manager app.

** [Sep 8, 2005] by Maryse J
The same as previously reviewed. I confirm. On a Tungsten T5, the backup is OK, but the restauration fails at the end and needs a soft reset. Please go on. This software would be nice if it should work!

Had an earlier post and would not restore on my T/C. Since update, now works perfect. Don't think I will resort to doing a hard reset to try it, but I did do a restore on top of what I already have and worked just fine. Good work.

* [Jul 22, 2005] by Tinso
The backup works but the restore doesn't work on the LifeDrive, after almost finishing it give an error of not enough space available.

** [Jul 21, 2005] by Franta
Backup works but restore fails with fatal alert on my T2 which makes it unusable. Make sure you have other backup before trying this for the first time on your device.

***** [Jul 20, 2005] by AC
Looks great but get this Fatal Alert on my Clie T615c: MQWin.c, Line:634, unlock out of sync? addresses reset too soon

** [Jul 18, 2005] by Black*boot
Thought I'ld give this a try on my Tungsten T, GUI was great & seemed to backup everything correctly. Had to do a restore today, no matter which point of the 3 backups I had got the same error. Insufficient memory, please delete some files. Too bad, will just have go back to my old backup tool.

Seems to be promosing, though it does not work on my T5 (freeze when ending the backup, soft reset needed)

I hav succesfully used the previous versions of this program. BUT the latest update 7/14/2005 comes up with an error on my Kyocera 7135.

This is a must have for anyone who has had to perform a hard reset of their Palm device. I'm just wondering if InnerBackup could restore the Palm databases and programs rather than doing a Hotsync. InnerBackup is the backup solution I have been looking for my Zire 71. Everybody should have this program for peace of mind.

Works fine on my Zire 72 - just check the setup before your first backup & make sure that you have a card with sufficient space installed! Great little program!

***** [Jul 15, 2005] by Candas Kennel
Work great on my Zire 71. A well made program! And best of all, it's FREE!

* [Apr 28, 2005] by Robin
Looks nice and easy to use but it doesn't work at all on my M515. Restoring results in eror messages: (VFS 2A0C) then repeated Fatal errors so I have to hard reset.

***** [Mar 28, 2005] by R. Soylu
Thanks to the author. it is great and FREE.

***** [Mar 21, 2005] by Timmie
Works great on M100 and M500, thanks

DON'T listen to the reviews before this one concerning a tungsten c handheld. I have both sucessfully backed up and restored to my device with absolutly no problems at all! Only one minor thing, I admit that you SHOULD NOT delete the backup record in this program as it Will take forever. As an alternative, I seggest using file-z. To the developer, keep up the good work

I really wanted to like this. It looks great, and pretends to work, but on my Zire 72, restoring from the backup does not work. Great idea, looks sharp, doesn't work...

Works perfectly on my Tungsten T2. I made a backup and, some days later, my Palm went south and I had to make a hard reset. In two minutes, and without the need to sync with a desktop computer, this software brought my PDA back to life.

Works perfectly on my Kyocera7135 SmartPhone.Does Everything it says it does. As there is always room for improvement I would suggest the following options in updates to the software. Option 1 " Auto-Backup ".... Option 2 " the option to 'not' save previous Back-ups "... Option 3 " Compress the Back-up ". Even without these suggested options it is a very valuable little utility that every Kyocera 7135 owner should not be without. It works and it's Free....... so ..... No complaints from me !!!

When trying to restore on my Tungsten E the program froze and required a soft reset. Unfortunately somehow my config was screwed - making Hotsyncing impossible. Restoring with Backup Buddy (eval version - my fallback) did not resolve the issue. Final solution was a hard reset and a restore from my PC. I recommend Hotsyncing before trying to test restore. A disclaimer stating on which platforms this software was tested would be welcome - even for freeware - as this obviously was not tested on my Tungsten E platform. The software provides a false sense of security as problems only occur when trying to restore. More luck next time!

Stinks. Appears to backup fine (very slow backups) but if you try to restore, you get errors. I tested this on my T-C. When you try to restore, I got an error right away that said the VFS was not the right format; but then appeared to restore, but then got countless "cannot open database" errors -- some "self cleared" others did not. Some times it would stop mid "restore" and other times it would go all the way thru. In a nutshell: Unreliable as a backup tool.

As an avid Palm/PC user/programmer, I strongly recommend avoiding this software until future upgrade. It is not recommended for Tungsten T units, as I experienced trouble similar to the reviewers below. The program looks great, backs up great. Restoring the backup, however, causes serious problems and requires reset. Although I have not yet lost data, my system remains buggy. More bad than good, I'm afraid.

* [Mar 5, 2005] by Ken
Did not work on my T600. Seemed to backup fine but when I did the restore, I got errors about the database open or other issues about the library error. Please be sure to check your restore if you use this program.

Not working correctly on my Tungsten C. Backed up fine, but tried to restore and stopped mid stream and would not finish. Tried to delete the backup later and would not let me delete it. Had to delete with a card writer and delete from external source. Kept saying file was in use. Looks good, but just not functional on my Palm.

***** [Mar 4, 2005] by Bill DAugustine
This seriously fills a huge gap. So far I've not found a single _freeware_ backup program; hope the devs keep this gem that way. Works fine on a Sony UX-50, altho the UX-50 has a built-in backup. To be honest, the only real suggestion I could make would be for file compression.

Otimo ...Funcina legal no meu zire 72 ,mas as vezes nao reconhece o cartao:(

***** [Mar 3, 2005] by -=rjh=-
Works fine on T3 here. Nice, simple app. Be careful - if the external card has insufficient space, the backup process will pause at a dialog box, but then continues as if a backup had completed and seems to write an image. Since this image is incomplete, I'm guessing restoring from it could be messy. Lack of any documentation is worrying, and OK/Cancel buttons would be less confusing than the buttons used. Otherwise, it is all good.

A nice free backup utility. Everyone should use one of these programs to backup as they will preserve ALL your settings, something a hotsync won't do. The only missing feature is the ability to schedule automatic backups.

***** [Mar 2, 2005] by david
O my goodness. Ive been looking for this kind of software for mounths now. Found plenty of them but they are all shareware. This app works well on my Zire 72. Thanks for the app and making it a freeware. Good stuff.

***** [Mar 2, 2005] by Matias
I can say that this is the only free backup utility that works on a Tungsten C. I hope that they continue developing it.

*** [Mar 2, 2005] by blip
Unacceptable for T5 users, maybe not for others. It does'nt work on T5, but then again nothing else does at this point including the commercial software out there. Just thought I would let the T5 owners know in advance rather than finding out on their own.
