LaCie Rolls Out New Products for Macworld Expo

LaCie announced on Wednesday that it will release six new products during Macworld Expo 2006. Renowned designers, Neil Poulton and Karim Rashid, provided some of the product designs for LaCie.

Little Big Disk
This drive offers up to 360GB of portable storage with FireWire 800/400 and USB 2.0 interfaces. All capacities operate at 5400rpm, and a 200GB model operates at 7200rpm. Pricing starts at US$399, and the 200GB/7200rpm model is $649.

Rugged Hard Drive
The Rugged Hard Drive includes an aluminum shell with rubber bumpers that LaCie says will protect the drive from table-height drops. It comes in triple interface (FireWire 800/400, and USB 2.0) models, or with USB 2.0 only. The triple interface models start at $199, and the USB 2.0 models start at $169.

Skwarim
The Skwarim (pronounced square-im) is a 3.3-inch by 3.3-inch handheld-sized drive with a rubberized shell. The shell is texturized, and comes in blue 60GB and pink 30GB capacities. You can use the drive with or without an AC adapter. The 60BG blue model is priced at $199, and the 30GB pink model is $169.

Two Big
This ultra-fast SATA II RAID holds two hot-swappable hard drives, for a total capacity of 500GB or 1TB. It comes bundled with LaCie's SATA II 3Gb/s PCI-X card that has four ports, for adding additional Two Big drives. The 500GB model is $469, and the 1TB model is $949.

Mini Hard Drive & Hub
THe Mini Hard Drive & Hub is designed to match the Mac mini while providing extra storage and a FireWire/USB hub. Ii includes two FireWire 400 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports, and is available in sizes ranging from 250GB for $199, up to 500GB for $429.

LaCie Slim DVD±RW Design by FA Porsche
This portable, FireWire bus powered DVD and CD burner comes bundled with Toast 7 Titanium and includes LightScribe for etching images and labels on the surface of LightScribe CDs. It is priced at $219.
