Description:
Use this MobileDB database, brought to you by RoadFood.com, to find most most memorable local eateries along the highways and back roads of America.

Roadfood means great regional meals along highways, in small towns and in city neighborhoods.
It is non-franchised, sleeves-up food made by cooks, bakers, pitmasters, and sandwich-makers who are America’s culinary folk artists.

Roadfood is almost always informal and inexpensive; and the best Roadfood restaurants are colorful places enjoyed by locals (and savvy travelers) for their character as well as their menu.

Install Handmark MobileDB along with this database filter/search/sort just the cities that interest you.
Visit roadfood.com to submit your favorite local eateries.

The Jumping Frog Cafe' in downtown Hannibal (101 North Main) is not too far off Hwy 36 if you are looking for something besides typical fried "fast food". This is a wonderful lunch place set in a building that also houses a small flea market and two art shops. I am recommending this for lunch because the food is excellent. They told us that it opened in July of 2000...I am hoping that they will change their plastic chairs to antique wood so the surroundings will match the excellent food. There was a choice of two excellent pies that day...apple and blackberry...that the owner made. Also soups, salads, skinned baked potatoes, chicken salad, etc.

Hannibal, Missouri Logue's Restaurant is a nice diner for travelers on Missouri's Hwys 61 or 36. Breakfast is served all day. Closes a 9pm. Seats 214 so they can carry a full menu. Located on Hwy 61 S. next to a Comfort Inn (though I would not recommend that hotel. (Thin walls!)).

Nichols Hills Drug in OKlahoma City, OK has the best hamburgers and breakfast sandwiches along with old timey, very rich milkshakes--none of those runny, watery kind. They pack them in daily for brakfast and lunch. They close the grill at 3pm. It can be very busy so I'd suggest phoning your order in ahead, or you may wait your turn and sit at the counter. The best and worth the wait.
