Shelf Archive - Introduction

As most companies increasingly have their corporate data available in digital format, their IT departments are continuously challenged by the growing demand for digital archival storage. Finding an easy to manage, scalable and trustworthy solution that safeguards all your digital assets seems at times truly difficult. In reality, the solution is not very complicated.

The Shelf Archive consists simply of a file server, two DVD recorders and DAXfs software which completely automates the archiving process.

DAXfs offers a scalable on-line cache archive where data is stored on hard disk for instant retrieval and simultaneously on DVD for compliance and protection.

Off-line retrieval of DVDs is facilitated by means of a message which is generated informing the user on which DVD the requested file can be found.
