Football Manager 2006 v6.0.3 Patch
 
SIGames has released a new patch for Football Manager 2006, adding various tweaks, enhancements and bugfixes (check full article for changelog). As you probably know, there are two demos already available and you can find them here and here.
Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk Scree..
We have new screenshots from the tutorial mode of Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk, an arcade action air combat game that takes place in a distant future, in a time when the solar system has been conquered by the human beings. All states have come together to create the World Nations Union. But through the centuries, this government became more and more inhuman and tyrannical. A small group made of a few brave nations has decided to take its independence. Developed by Kando Games, Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk will hit the store shelves this March.
Trapt Screens/Details #2
Take-Two Interactive Europe today released more screenshots from Trapt for the PlayStation 2 along with a Q&A; with Hitoshi Hasegawa, the Director of Development and Promotion. The action is set in a medieval Europe and you play as Queen Allura, a deposed member of royalty who has been framed for the murder of her father, King Olaf. Together with her handmaiden, Rachel, she escapes into castle-bound exile deep within the Black Forest where she encounters a diabolic entity called The Fiend, who possesses her and transforms her into a trap master, an evil temptress who uses deadly traps for revenge against those who killed her father.
Trauma Center: Under the Knife Delayed i..
Previously set for a March release, Trauma Center: Under the Knife for the Nintendo DS will be released by Nintendo of Europe on April 28th. The game lets you play doctor, performing increasingly complex surgeries. The stylus will be your scalpel as you make incisions, anesthetize problem areas, remove tumors, monitor vital signs and apply bandages.
Rhythmic Star Screens
Ignition today released the first screenshots from Rhythmic Star for the PlayStation 2. The game makes full use of the EyeToy USB camera. To progress, touch the stars in time to the music as they cascade down the screen. Release is expected on 10th March, with the game priced at £14.99.
SUN Movie #3
Webzen released a new movie of SUN, their game which will incorporate console-style game mechanics into a classic MMORPG. Unlike most MMORPGs, SUN allows players to strategically set the stage for battles by choosing different types of maps, entry numbers, degrees of difficulty and types of monsters for the ultimate customized game play experience. Additionally, advanced community tools allow players to communicate within a village and experience various kinds of economic affairs.
The Godfather Movie #12 and #13
Electronic Arts released two new movies from The Godfather, the game revealed by Warren Jensen at Bear-Stearns 17th Annual Media, Entertainment and Information Conference (thanks: GameSpot). Developed by EA and based on the book by Mario Puzo and the classic film by Paramount Pictures through a licensing relationship with Viacom Consumer Products, EA's The Godfather features a GTA style city where players can explore and accomplish missions. The game will offer players countless choices for solving the family's problems with violence, skillful diplomacy, or a cunning mixture of both. The Godfather is due to ship in Europe on March 24th and in North America on March 21st, for PC, Xbox and PS2. The game will also be available for the Xbox 360 and PSP later in 2006.
LOTR: The Battle for Middle-earth II Mov..
Electronic Arts released a new movie from The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, the sequel which allows players to engage in heated battles with Elven and Dwarven armies plus heroes and creatures "that have never been seen in a The Lord of the Rings film". Thanks: GameSpot. The single-player demo is locally mirrored here. The game will be released on March 2nd, 2006.
Battle of Europe Demo
BlackBean Game has released a playable demo for Battle of Europe, allowing you to try out this flight sim developed by MAUS Software and scheduled for this March. The game offers 16 historically based missions, including tutorial and bonus missions, 180 models including planes, bases, ships, vehicles and more, varying weather and daytime conditions, and more.

Top Stories The week started with some news from 2K Games. 2K Games announced that Firefly Studios is working on the third installment in the Stronghold series, called Stronghold Legends. Stronghold Legends is a a real time strategy game built on the Stronghold heritage, combining beautifully crafted visuals and well balanced gameplay with the epic legends of the middle ages. Stronghold Legends will feature a new strategic conquest style of play and new multiplayer modes - gamers can play as King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, Count Vlad Dracul or relive the heroic sagas of the mighty Siegfried of Germany in twenty-four missions that span across three unique campaigns. Stronghold Legends is due to ship in fall 2006. You can check out the Press Release and some screenshots here. NCsoft also announced that Auto Assault is available for open beta testing from 6-10pm Thursdays and 9am Saturday through to 9pm Sunday. In this game, players explore a post-apocalyptic future in customizable cars, motorcycles, semis and even tanks. Players battle other players both in arenas and in epic race vs. race wars for control of the regions in a devastated Earth. Auto Assault uses the power of the Havok physics engine to let you make insane jumps, send obstacles flying and even blast bridges, buildings, fences and trees with your car-mounted rockets. Check the Press Release and a link to the beta here. Ubisoft announced Monday that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Lockdown has gone Gold and will hit the stores across the U.S. on February 16, 2006. Compared with the console version, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 4 Lockdown for PC features a multiplayer reward system, improved AI, a new “Free-for-all” game type, a revamped Rivalry Mode, new weapons, and many more. Following Valve Software’s recent announcement that they will be releasing all Half-Life 2 add-ons in Episodes from now on, they Monday released the first information about Half-Life 2: Episode 1. Episode 1 will continue the story from the Half-Life 2 single player adventure. Half-Life 2: Episode 1 promises better AI, enhanced physical gameplay, and more. On Tuesday SouthPeak Interactive announced that State of Emergency 2, developed by DC Studios, is available throughout North America for as little as $29.99. State of Emergency 2 takes place 10 years after the original and has Spanky, Bull and MacNeill again up against the Corporation. This time, they not only have access to guns but also - for the first time - helicopters, speedboats, Tanks and APCs and new team members. State of Emergency 2 adds a full story-based single-player game to the challenge modes and split-screen multiplayer modes. Wednesday Reef Entertainment Limited released some new screenshots from Utopia City, their upcoming sci-fo FPS set in 2091 where a parallel virtual world, based on the real life town of Postville, begins to take on a life of its own and threatens normal life as it really is. Developed by Parallax Art Studios, Utopia City will be available in Q2 2006. Check the original article here. THQ announced that they will be releasing an Xbox 360 demo of The Outfit via Xbox Live on March 3rd. Ubisoft has sent us new Far Cry Instincts Predator screenshots, illustrating how the game takes advantage of Xbox 360’s multi-core next-generation engine. Scheduled for launch this Spring, Far Cry Instincts Predator will feature both Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter and an enhanced version of the original Far Cry Instincts game. Age of Mourning Back On Track
The development team behind the Age of Mourning let us know that their MMORPG will be released sometime within the next 6 months. The closed beta testing will start sooner, most likely in April. Details can be found in this thread.
Best of the Battlefield Tournament Winne..
Yesterday, February 17, Team Legends emerged as the winner of EA’s Best of the Battlefield, the video game tournament played on Xbox for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. The 10-member team claimed the grand prize of $250,000 - $25,000 for each team member. The massive tournament began in November and featured one of the largest prize purses of any video game tournament in history – more than $300,000. Over 200+ hopeful teams (10 players each) registered and went head-to-head for a spot in the finals.
