Atari has released a few new screenshots from High Treason, the upcoming add-on Act of War: Direct Action - it will feature modern naval combat, as well as new units, upgrades and streamlined interface mechanics. The game is due to ship in March 2006.

NCsoft Europe has released a trailer and a batch of screenshots from the latest update to the City of Heroes and City of Villains, due to arrive in April. Free to subscribers, Issue #7: Destiny Manifest will provide new content for high-level players, like two new zones, Grandville and Recluse's Victory (featuring Lord Recluse himself), new missions, new power sets, costume options, base features and an improved graphics engine.

Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) has released two ne trailers from SWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate, the expansion shipped to retail stores this week for the PC. The Stetchkov Syndicate offers 7 new single and multiplayer player levels, voice over IP, 10 player Co-op, a new multiplayer mode (Smash & Grab), as well as new weapons and equipment for both SWAT members and suspects. Electronic Arts released a new movie from The Godfather, the game revealed by Warren Jensen at Bear-Stearns 17th Annual Media, Entertainment and Information Conference. Developed by EA and based on the book by Mario Puzo and the classic film by Paramount Pictures through a licensing relationship with Viacom Consumer Products, EA's The Godfather features a GTA style city where players can explore and accomplish missions. The game will offer players countless choices for solving the family's problems with violence, skillful diplomacy, or a cunning mixture of both. The Godfather is due to ship in Europe on March 24th and in North America on March 21st, for PC, Xbox and PS2. The game will also be available for the Xbox 360 and PSP later in 2006.

As part of its licensing agreement with MTO Co., Ubisoft announced that Catz, the first kitten simulation game, will be available worldwide in March 2006, exclusively for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance - the game carries a MSRP of $29.99. Catz is a pet simulation game that lets owners name, train and play with adorable kittens. Players adopt a customized kitten from one of thirteen different breeds. Gamers will earn their kitten’s love and loyalty by remembering to feed, groom or play with it. Toys and accessories can be purchased for the kitten from the in-game store. Eidos Interactive has released the first URBAN CHAOS: Riot Response trailer, showcasing this first person shooter scheduled to ship this Spring in North America, for PC, PS2 and Xbox. URBAN CHAOS: Riot Response gives gamers the opportunity to step into the shoes of Nick Mason a member of T-Zero, an elite counter-gang unit, putting his life on the line in response to a terrorist threat. Specially trained in all areas of urban combat and armed with the very latest high-tech weaponry, T-Zero – the last line in urban defense, teams-up with Emergency Services groups including firefighters, paramedics and police to combat multiple threats on the city such as bombings and hostage scenarios.

Spellborn International released a new trailer from Chronicles of Spellborn, showcasing their online role-playing game powered by the Unreal 2.5 engine. The Chronicles of Spellborn is set in an original fantasy setting, in the Enclave of the Five Sacrifices. This enclave is a collection of rock realms drifting through the DeadSpell Storm. The DeadSpell Storm allows the world to exist in a mythical state; inhabited shards of rock float through a breathable void that boils with elder power. Nothing but a common history and ancient magic prevents the shards from falling into oblivion. These levitating rock-realms contain mountains, forests, fields, villages and cities built on the pieces of a broken world. Microsoft sent over a press release, unveiling a new retail program called the Best of Platinum Hits which will offer popular Xbox titles for the low price of $9.99 (SRP). Starting March 2006, best-selling games like Fuzion Frenzy, Project Gotham Racing 2, MechAssault, Soul Calibur II, Counterstrike will be available at the new price point.

GameTap the first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment network from Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. announced a deal with software publisher Strategy First to preview full versions of the company’s upcoming titles to GameTap subscribers prior to their retail release. This announcement also provides GameTap with rights to license new titles from Strategy First during the post retail phase. We have some wallpapers from Shadowgrounds, the game developed by Frozenbyte and previously known as Preyground. Set in the near future, the game pits the player against oncoming alien hordes who are invading a colony base. The storyline includes investigating alien origins, helping in rescue evacuation and setting up defense perimeters. The player gets help from many allies who play an essential part in the overall story. Weapons can be customized with multiple upgrades, maximizing the carnage, and the environment is destructibile, allowing players to wreak havoc in full scale. Midway has released a new trailer from Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War, showcasing the historical real-time strategy game announced back in February 2005. The game lets players completely command one of the four mightiest empires of the ancient world: Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Persia. The game’s development is now being led internally out of the Midway San Diego studio, with a group that includes game industry veterans from the teams that developed Heroes of Might and Magic and Lords of Everquest. Rise & Fall: Civilizations At War is due to ship in June 2006.

10TACLE STUDIOS announced that Elveon, the fantasy action epic by 10TACLE STUDIOS Slovakia, will be showcased at E3 2006 (Kentia Hall, #HR 6937). Based on the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology, Elveon leads the gamer through the heroic history of the Elvish civilisation and promises an innovative combat system. The game will be released in summer 2007 for Xbox 360 and PC.
