A new science question is answered every Tuesday in C.Claiborne Ray's popular Science Q & A column from Tuesday's Science Times section. In addition, an archive is available. The questions are organized under 12 categories to make browsing the collection simple and fun:
Animals, Birds & Fish, Human Body & Mind, Insects & Invertebrates, Manufactured Things, Microscopic Life, Plants, Space & Spaceships, The Earth, The Sea, The Weather, and Everything Else.

The New York Times College Scholarship
The New York Times will award at least five high school seniors to receive up to $12,000 a year for four years. The program is open to current high school seniors who are attending a public, parochial or private school in New York City.
