This traditional board game played across the world with a large following in Asia and the Far East. This game has many different names and spellings in different parts of the world including Indian Finger Billiards, Carom, Carroms, Carrum, Karum, Carum and table billiards to name but a few.

US Carrom
With 101 different games, including chess, checkers (draughts), Carrom (with cues) and many more. This game is very versitile and popular in the United States.
Manufacturered by the Carrom Company, Ludington, Michigan (MI) since the early 1900s, there is alot of history attached to this company and it's products. Find US Carrom products here.
Backgammon
The origins of this game are lost in the time possibly dated back 5000 years. The ancient Greeks and Romans played it, so did the Egyptians. Gaming boards have been found in ancient Egyptian archaeological sites.
Backgammon appeared in the 17th century in England where it acquired this name and then swept across Europe under different names such as Gammon, Tric-Trac, and Tablas Reales among others.

Chess
While some sources cite its origin in China, a Persian poem dated in 600 AD describes Chess coming to Persia from India when it was first called "Chaturanga", a Sanskrit word translated as "4 limbed" or "4 parts" played with dice on a 64-square board.
The precursor of the modern Chess eventually evolved into a two-player game named "shatrani" and arrived in Europe in the 6th century with the expansion of the Arabian Empire and gradually became associated with knowledge, power and wealthy classes until the modern set was established around 1835. Checkers
As with many other board games the origin of the (Checkers or Draughts) are not completely clear although forms of Alquerque, a similar game, were found in Egypt dated 600 BC ago.
There are paintings from the 13th century depicting Checker boards, but some historians place their origin in Asia around 1000 AD and others say they come from the frontier between France and Spain.
Checkers is one of the best known strategy games worldwide, called draughts in Great Britain and International draughts in most French-speaking countries as with a slight difference on the board: 10x10 instead of the regular 8x8 with 64 squares both.
