Nintendo today announced the new name of their console, replacing the old Revolution with Wii, as in "we". The new name reflects Nintendo's main goal with its new console, that of bringing together people from all around the world, no matter what language they might speak. "Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games ... and each other. But you're probably asking: What does the name mean? Wii sounds like "we," which emphasizes this console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii. Wii has a distinctive "ii" spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play. And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of video games that sets it apart from the crowd. So that's Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because, it's really not about you or me. It's about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything."

Bioshock is not the sequel but the "spiritual successor" System Shock 2, according to Ken Levine from Irrational Games. From a first person perspective, we’ll have to explore a bio-lab and fight genetically modified enemies along the way, like drones, predators and soldiers. The AI is said to be very complex, we’ll have the chance to upgrade our alter-ego with genetic implants, use weapons like pistols, shotguns, rifles, which can also be upgraded and used to take advantage of each enemies’ weaknesses, which can only be discovered if they are photographed with a bio-scanner. The engine used is called Vengeance, being an improved version of the one used in Tribes: Vengeance. In production for quite some time now, Bioshock will be released on a date which has yet to be announced. Check the first screenshot from our gallery.

Egosoft has issued a new patch for X3: REUNION, bringing this space combat sequel to v1.4.03 (thanks: The Patches Scrolls). The update fixes two specific problems that some people were experiencing in v1.4.02 patch. Word is: "Savegame compatibility is maintained from all previous publicly released versions up to 1.4.02 (including 1.4.1 BETA 1 and 2) but it is possible that certain savegames made using 1.3.02 BETA may no longer work. When running 1.4.03 the initial options menu will show 1.4.03 in the top-right corner, but the main in-game menu will still show 1.4.02. This is normal".
