OR-Charlton Lake
Charlton Lake rests almost on the crest of the Cascade Mountains, at the edge of the Deschutes National Forest. It holds 156 acres of pure, blue water, as well as some large but fairly elusive brook trout.
OR-Clear Lake
The years have brought many developments to Clear Lake, making it more accessible and therefore more popular.
OR-Devils Lake
One of many picturesque lakes along Century Drive west of Bend, Devils Lake is distinctive because of its remarkable color-a turquoise blue that makes you wonder if one of the goddesses lost a gem.
OR-Gold Lake
Quiet Gold Lake is nestled half in meadow, half in forest.
OR-Hosmer Lake
Hosmer deserves to be included in Quiet Waters, even though motorboats are allowed*. Several restrictions on the use of motors, however, leave this lake relatively undisturbed.
OR-Irish & Taylor Lakes
These two remote lakes lie adjacent to one another along the road between Waldo and Cultus Lakes.
OR-Link Creek Basin
Link Lake dominates the group of small lakes in the Link Creek basin near Suttle Lake in the Deschutes National Forest.
OR-Little Lava Lake
Little Lava Lake is the source of the Deschutes River.
OR-Round Lake
Round Lake does offer some weeks of solitude in May and September and the odd week during the summer. If you have children, the profusion of young campers may be an advantage.
OR-Scott Lake
Canoeists especially enjoy Scott Lake because it's so interesting to explore, and because the pristine setting is not easily rivaled.
OR-Sparks Lake
Sparks Lake is just too captivating, too special, to be omitted from a book on quiet waters of Oregon, even though motorboats are allowed.
OR-Three Creeks Lake
Three Creeks Lake has for years been a favorite for families because it offers a lot to explore with children.
OR-Todd Lake
If it were possible to rate Oregon's quiet lakes by virtue of their beauty alone, Todd Lake would certainly fall near the top of the list.
OR-Twin Lakes
These mountain lakes number among the most prominent type of lakes in Oregon, those filling craters left by volcanic activity.
OR-Upper Deschutes River
There are several sections of the Upper Deschutes River that can be run in a canoe. Wickiup Dam to Pringle Falls is the one we do most often.
OR-Upper Klamath Lake
The six-mile Upper Klamath Canoe Trail begins in Pelican Bay, the northwest corner of this huge lake, and offers a great day of canoeing.
OR-Walton Lake
Walton looks more like a natural lake than a reservoir, but it was first created in the 1900's with the damming of Camp Creek.
