| I just received a new Windows Mobile 5 unit (Sprint PPC-6700) and couldn't get Pocket Fritz to work on it. When I try to install the .cab file, it asks me to select my language, but doesn't give me any choices in the pull-down menu. |

I emailed chessbase. They sent me a file which populated the list a couple of days later.

I bought a hp ipaq hx2790 and pocket fritz2 + service pack, but I also have the blank language choice box.
Can someone send me the language file please?
I mailed chessbase, but they haven't answered yet (maybe because it's weekend...) |

my problem is solved - thx to a post on rec.games.chess.computer, i got a tip to copy the cab file to the ipaq first and install it there;
since then no problems - it works fine.
I did not install the service pack this way - does anybody know what the service pack fixes? |

I am realizing here that a lot of people, like me, had the same problem with pocket fritz 2 in HIpaq with windows mobile 5.0. ( my device is HP IpaqHx2490 ). After the install I also have the blank language choice box. And it was no possible to do the pocket fritz 2 work. I emailed chessbase, and the person there who does the tehcnical assistance answered at least 15 responses by email ( ! ), try to solve the problem. He have sent me some pack of files to fix the problem, but it havent work until now. Pocket fritz 2 has a real problem with windows mobile 5.0
I am giving up of the fritz for my pocket pc. Then I purchased the programs "pocketgrand master' and ' chessgenius PPC" - they worked very well in my device, and in my opinion they are very very good chess pocket programs. Strong, layout beatiful, playing fast, not expensive - I am liking very mutch of them. |
