'Butch Cassidy' Cinematographer Hall Dead at 76

Veteran cinematographer Conrad L. Hall, who won an Oscar for 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and a second Oscar thirty years later for American Beauty, died Saturday in Santa Monica of bladder cancer at the age of 76. His other films included The Professionals (1966), In Cold Blood (1967), The Day of the Locust (1975) and Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993). He had been selected to receive this year's lifetime achievement award from the National Board of Review.
