MACAULAY CULKIN

Macaulay Culkin was one of the most incredible child actors.
He captured the hearts of many people (including mine) all over the world. Mac's siblings followed his footsteps into the movie business and out of them Kieran being the most successful right now.
Mac was influenced by his brother's performance in "The Mighty" which if i may say so myself was worth the watch. Mac is yet to take a role in a movie after his last in 1994 - Richie Rich.
He was signed up for "The Bodypiercer"and "The Diary Of A Mad Freshman"
but they were both dropped for some reason. (Hey I dunno everything)
But he has appeared in Sonic Youth's Video called "Sunday" in 1997 and most recently Mademe Melville. scroll down for more info on this very talented not to mention heavenly guy!!
Well I’ll give you something straight... i think he's a good actor but a better person and real adorable!!

The Interview:-

This is the Macaulay's first interview since December 1994. He was doing a monologue for Ensemble Studio Theater (EST). And Entertainment Tonight (ET) was there to interview him. This is in fact the theater where he began his acting career, at the age of six.

ET: You look great all dressed for this occasion.

Macaulay: Thank you...thank you.

ET: What are you doing this evening? Why is it important for you to be involved in this?

Macaulay: Oh, well EST (Ensemble Studio Theater) basically is where I started when I was about six years old and I was about that tall. It was really great for me...it was really great. It was basically where I got my start. And I just kinda wanted to do something for them basically. And I'm doing a monologue tonight, and it's going to be great. I think so...yeah.

ET: Is theater something you feel more comfortable with or can we expect to see you back on the silver screen?

Macaulay: I'm basically looking at stuff. I mean I'm hoping to start getting some things going, basically. That's just about it.

ET: Is there something you're interested in or are we going to see you more in theater?

Macaulay: We'll see. I'm just about open to everything.

ET: Recently we haven't seen a lot of you...have you been taking some time to yourself?

Macaulay: Yeah, I've been taking like the last three years off trying to get kind of a life, basically. Kind of getting a relationship with my family and stuff like that you know? Just the good stuff -- the real stuff in life you know...

ET: It is difficult being in that spotlight for so long isn't it?

Macaulay: Yeah, it really was. It was a lot of stress. It was a lot of pressure. I mean I did about fourteen films in about, like, six or seven years. It was just like half the time was on the road and I didn't even know where one movie ended and the other one began so, you know.

ET: Did you feel like you're rejuvenated now?

Macaulay: Very much so--very much so. I finally got a little bit of a rest. I got myself a life so...

ET: What about your brother do you tell him to lay low?

Macaulay: Oh no, no I'm letting him do his own thing. I think he's so wonderful. I think he's so wonderful. He kind of inspired me to get back into it without even knowing it.

ET: What about plans for college?

Macaulay: I don't know. I'm basically going to take some time off to figure out what I'm going to do at least career wise or anything like that.

ET: What can we expect from you?

Macaulay: Some good...good stuff.

ET: Well we look forward to seeing you this evening.

Macaulay: Thank you.

The half sister: -
Jennifer Adamson, age 29, half sister of Macaulay and his siblings, died of an accidental drug overdose at her mother's home in Missoula, Montana. She was the daughter of Kit Culkin by a relationship years before meeting Patricia Brentrup (Macaulay's mom). Jennifer had not yet met her famous family but was planning a reunion with her father in Arizona for her 30th birthday in June. She had always been very excited about having so many other brothers and sisters. Jennifer worked with the disabled in a group home in Missoula and was known as a sweet and well-liked young woman. She lived with her mom who she called her "best friend". Kit Culkin was said to have learned about the tragedy from a tabloid reporter and was devastated.

MACAULAY'S MARRIAGE WOES...
August 04, 2000 —
Looks like Macaulay Culkin will have a home alone again--at least for a little while.
Culkin's publicist confirmed Friday that the onetime kiddie star has "temporarily" separated from his wife of two years, Rachel Miner.
"It was very amicable and they remain the best of friends," Paul Bloch said. Bloch would not say if the couple was living apart, and they're not presently planning to divorce.
Culkin, now 19, is currently in London trying to jump-start his long-dormant acting career by starring in a play. (Culkin's last film was the 1994 bomb The Pagemaster.)
Also a former child actor, Miner, 20, struck up her romance with the Home Alone star in 1997, after the two met while attending the Professional Children's School in Manhattan. She is best known for costarring with Natalie Portman in Broadway's The Diary of Anne Frank and for playing Michelle Bauer on CBS's The Guiding Light from 1989-1995.
The couple married in June 1998, when both were just 17.

August 8, 2000.
Macaulay Culkin and wife Rachel Miner have separated after two years of marriage. Stories like this tend to be very much blown up by the press, and this story seem to be no exception.

According to spokesman Paul Bloch, "they have temporarily separated. It is very amicable and they remain the best of friends." Macaulay and Rachel met in 1997 at Professional Children's school in New York, and were marrying a year later.

However, it is our expressed wish that the press should focus their attention on Macaulay's upcoming play in London, instead of his private life. His role in "Madame Melville" will be his first in almost six years, and the prospects are really good. We are all looking forward to see him back on stage.

MAC RETURNES TO ACTING... ON STAGE!!!

Macaulay Culkin is planning to resurrect his acting career on the London stage, in a raunchy play that could rival The Graduate.

He has just been on audition for a leading role in the play, Madame Melville, by the celebrated playwright Richard Nelson. It is to be staged in London in October.

"When Macaulay's name was first mooted, Richard was very reluctant because he has hardly worked at all in the last five or six years," said a production insider. "But he auditioned last week and amazed everybody with his performance. He said he really wants the part and has convinced everyone that he should have it."

Producer Adam Kenwright, nephew of theatrical impresario and Everton FC owner Bill Kenwright, is now seeking to secure either the Apollo or Albery theatres in the West End for a stage spectacle which could rival Jerry Hall's disrobing in The Graduate.

In an echo of that play, Madame Melville tells of a 16-year-old boy - to be played by a still fresh-faced Culkin - who enjoys the amorous attentions of a 30s-something French teacher.

Producers have approached 34-year-old French actress Irene Jacob, the sultry star of arthouse films such as Three Colours Red and the Double Life of Veronique, and are confident she will appear alongside Culkin.

The source added: "The chemistry is spectacular. Macaulay is quite mature enough to cope with the play's emotional complexities and that was the only thing we were concerned about."

Rave News for Macaulay
Macaulay Culkin earned three curtain calls on his return to acting on Wednesday night, starring in a play on the West End stage.
Culkin performed to a packed house, which included many celebrities. Most felt Culkin was back on the road to success.
Comedian David Baddiel said: "He could really do it. I enjoyed it. But he hasn't changed as much as I thought he would considering as he's gone through puberty."
Daily Telegraph theatre critic Charles Spencer was also full of praise for the actor.
He said: "Culkin is absolutely superb in a memory play of wonderful delicacy, tenderness and humour."
He predicted that "Madame Melville" would have a long run.
"This is one of those rare evenings when you become suddenly aware of being in the presence of something rare and special," he said.

Madame Melvile Closed
After spending almost a year as Mr. Carl, Macaulay and all the others involved with the play felt ready to move on.
Madame Melville had its last performance in New York at June 24th, two months earlier than the original schedule.
Macaulay is very well and looking forward to getting his life back again. He will take the rest of the summer off and then look at new stuff in the fall.

Macaulay Planning To Return To Films
In an in depth interview with New York Magazine (cover story) this week, Macaulay reveals that he has plans to do a new film after he is done with "Madame Melville".
He is considering playing the homicidal club kid Michael Alig in an upcoming film adaptation of a book called Disco Blood Bath.

Return to films in "Party Monster"

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - In his first film in eight years, Macaulay Culkin will star in "Party Monster," a darkly comic recounting of the sick, sad and true story of 1990s party promoter and convicted murderer Michael Alig.

Budgeted under $5 million, the Killer Films project also will star Seth Green ("Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me"), and will begin production in Gotham in mid-April.

Alig, a "club kid" and party promoter, rose to prominence in the early 1990s. At his peak, he had his own record label and magazine. He also was doing a lot of drugs and, as his addictions got worse, his party themes became darker and more twisted. He murdered his drug dealer by injecting him with Drano and threw him in the East River. The power he wielded on the club scene made him feel untouchable, so he didn't hesitate to boast of the murder. The press thought it was a publicity stunt until the body washed ashore.

Documentary veterans Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato will make their feature writing/directing debuts on the project. Their credits include "The Eyes of Tammy Faye," as well as an Alig documentary, also called "Party Monster."

Their script is based on the book "Disco Blood Bath," which was penned by fellow Alig club kid James St. James (to be played by Green).

"(Bailey and Barbato) have their fingers on a kind of zeitgeist that is kind of amazing, a pop culture sense that's like playing great music," Killer Films principal Christine Vachon told Daily Variety. "They started following Michael Alig before he was Michael Alig, when he was a busboy at Danceteria."

Killer, Bailey and Barbato have long wanted to produce the picture, but the subject matter made it a difficult sell.

"When our deal was at MGM, we tried to get them to make it," Vachon said. "It was almost like we had to wait for Macaulay to grow up."

Macaulay goes to jail for new role

MACAULAY CULKIN is so determined to make sure his movie comeback as a drug-fuelled murderer is authentic, he has visited the killer he plays, in jail. He's portraying MICHAEL ALIG in his upcoming movie PARTY MONSTER - and to make sure he nails the role - he visited Alig in prison last weekend (MAY 25, 2002).

Alig led New York's notorious drugged up CLUB KIDS in the 1980s and 1990s. He was found guilty of the murder of ANGEL MELENDEZ in 1996 after bludgeoning the dancer and dumping his body in the Hudson River. (KL/WNV/IG)

Macaulay speaks in support of Jackson

Macaulay Culkin has come out in support of his friend, Michael Jackson. He was one of five children named in a 1993 abuse investigation who were said to have slept in Jackson's bedroom. Macaulay issued a statement saying, "Nothing ever happened when I stayed there, we just played video games…Yeah, I slept in his bedroom, but you have to understand the whole scenario." Macaulay claims MJ likes kids because they don't know who he is and they treat him like a normal human being.

"He's not very good at explaining himself and he never has been, because he's not a very social person. When he says something, he doesn't quite understand why people treat him the way they do.

Signs deal with NBC

Variety reports that NBC has signed him to a development deal, with an eye toward launching a sitcom next fall. He's already met with Conan O'Brien about the possibility of having O'Brien's Conaco company produce the show, the trade paper reports. Culkin's first movie in nine years, the recent ''Party Monster,'' didn't scare up much box office, but NBC spokesman Kevin Reilly said Culkin has ''always had uncanny instincts'' as an actor, and that the network decided he was worthy of his own series after his guest spot on ''Will & Grace.'' ''He came out and just did a great turn on that show,'' Reilly told Variety. ''He reminded everyone here that he possesses genuine talent.

There are certain child stars who figure out how to translate that talent to adulthood, and I think Macaulay's been waiting for the right time to come back and re-emerge as a star.

''No word yet on what the premise of a Culkin sitcom might be. ''We're going to use him in an unconventional way," Reilly said. "I don't think you'll see Macaulay as a straight-down-the-middle romantic lead.'' (Yeah, even though he's a divorced 23-year-old, that still sounds a little creepy.) Rather, Reilly said, ''I think you'll see him in something surprising, a little offbeat."
