Many of the chess sets on this site were actually bought in their
country of origin, like Poland, Greece, Turkey, Indonesia and Mexico.
Many thanks to some of my friends who helped me out in this endeavor.

These sets are here for your enjoyment but are unfortunately, not for sale.
However I welcome any questions you may have about them.

MY CHESS SETS

This set belonged to my grandfather. My mother Freida White had it made by a craftsman in Chehalis WA. in 1950. My Aunt Vivian made a cloth board for him about the same time. My Grandfather use to take them to the chess tournaments around Washington State. He took place in the state tourney in 1950. I have the pleasure of keeping this set for now, until I pass that pleasure on to my son one of these days, (Don't hold your breath, kid, That day is a long time from now !)

Major League Baseball is portrayed here in the "Cooperstown Collection"
made by Longton Crown. The manufacturer is no longer in business.
If you are interested in acquiring a set like this, I suggest looking on Ebay.

Purchased from the Walt Disney Corporation, this set is made of pewter
and is hand painted with porcelain and is a limited, numbered set. They
have stopped making this set now for over 10 years. It is not available
anywhere except pre-owned. Ebay is the best place to look for it.

This Cowboys and Indians set sits on a leather board,
edged with a woven vinyl strip.

The Book of Revelations taken from the New Testament of the Bible.
This set was made by the Carlton Co, of England and is made of
crushed stone cast with resin in the studios of Sac Ltd.

The next 3 sets fall into a category of their own.

Fred Flintstone, . . . My main caveman !

Homer and Marge Simpson. . . . . what can I say, I don't             The Muppets. How many questions can go thru a
know how I talked myself into this one!                                      person's mind, . . . . like why do I buy these?
You could say, Bart made me do it!

An excellent quality standard wooden set bought at the Costco Co. Wash. USA

              Small standard wooden set.

This is an old travel Chess and Checkers set.
Made of leather and it is dated somewhere near the early 60's I would say.

And here is a real nice one that I bought from William Richards. He, among other things, designed and made a lot of the art work you see on "Star Trek Next Generation" and "Voyager" Next time you watch Star Trek, look on the walls of the ships, You'll see round plates and rectangular pieces of art. That's his. Great job William!

More Chess sets that I have bought off of EBay. (Most all of them at a very reasonable price!)
I may have to make a page of just those I have bought from that great source!

Quad Chess. Very interesting game. The hardest part about
this game is getting 4 people who know how to play chess
together at the same time and place!

Phantom Chess is my only completely robotic chess set. It is particularly interesting to me because this is the field that I am employed in. I am a Numerical Control Technician at the largest airplane manufacturing company in the world.

When this game first came out, it was a greatly desired game. It quickly sold out, and just as quickly the company went out of business, which left this little jewel an even more desirable find. It is over 15 years old and still works perfectly. Of course I do not believe it has had more than 10 games played on it total. And NO! It is NOT for sale.

Miniature Chess. From a doll house catalog.

Golf, again from a catalog. I will find out more info, and add it later.

Chess Challenger. One of the first electronic chess sets I owned. It was a gift from my friend Bryan Nelson. Thanks Bryan.

Santa's World A great decoration for the holiday's.
Another set bought at the Costco Wholesale Warehouse.

A little pine chess set. 5 inches in diameter. How cute is this?

A Celtic Chess set.

More to come later, as soon as I get time to take more photos of my latest Chess sets and pieces.

CocaCola Chess Set
Old Ivory Chess Set
Small Mother of Pearl Chess Set
Chinese Chess Set
And many more . . . .

     The Display Cabinet

I built this cabinet especially for my Chess set collection.
As you can see it is built right into the wall, between the
studs. There is high density fiber board on every surface.
The sides have pilot holes for adjustable shelving. I
finished off with surface mounted beveled glass doors on
the front, for a very classy looking display cabinet. I have
very little room in my house to put my chess sets, so
necessity is again, the mother of invention. To see more
photos of the display cab click here

If you would like to email me about my Chess sets or what ever,
you can do so at SSragtop@aol.com.

Thank You for visiting my site! I hope you enjoyed it.
