You
Can Help Keep the Memory
Of Matt Burdick Alive
Matthew
“Birdie” Burdick, a senior at Robinson High School and starting quarterback
for the Senator football team--#12--died on Friday, September 12 from head
injuries he suffered in an auto accident the previous Monday evening.
However, with the donation of four of his vital organs, four other
people’s lives have been extended. So
Matt lives on through them.
Matt’s
parents, Tom and Lynnette Burdick, also want his memory to live on through the
Matthew Burdick Scholarship Endowment that they have established through the
Arkansas Community Foundation.
Beginning
in the spring of 2004--the time at which Matt should have been graduating from
high school--a college scholarship will be given from the Burdick Endowment to a
deserving Robinson senior who plans to major in journalism or mass
communications (the subjects that Matt had planned to pursue).
In future years, the foundation hopes to be able to give more than one scholarship.
The
Burdicks need your help to make the Scholarship Endowment a reality.
Please donate to this endowment and help keep Matt’s memory alive.
All donations are tax deductible.
The
Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF), who will administer all donations to the fund, has been building philanthropy in Arkansas through
its work with donors, nonprofits and communities for more than a quarter of a
century. Today the Community
Foundation is the state’s premier philanthropy resource for comprehensive
charitable gift planning. It is
committed to excellent stewardship of the funds entrusted to the Foundation.
Please
make checks payable to Arkansas Community Foundation, Inc. and indicate that the
donation is for the Matthew Burdick Scholarship Endowment.
Mail to ARCF at 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR 72202.
Questions should be directed to the Arkansas Community Foundation at
(501) 372-1116.
Matt will always be the Robinson Senators’ 12th man on the field.
