you may register for them now.
When camps fill we will note that on this page. Camps
in red are full.
Camps in McLean and Vienna usually fill first.

We take 30 - 40 students in each half-day camp, sometimes more
in the full-day camps, always on a first-come basis. Most
camps fill, so we recommend mailing your registration
to us quickly once the camps are confirmed.

We cannot accept registrations on-line.
To register, you must mail us a registration form along with a check.

In addition to teaching chess, we engage in a variety of recreational
activities in each camp. We supply snacks each day and organize
games like Capture the Flag. We try to go swimming twice
a week during the full-day camps in the suburbs. Some full-day
camps have the availability of an after-care problem-solving
enrichment program until 5:00 p.m. for an additional fee.
Partial scholarships usually are available for those who
need them. Camp fees include a camp T-shirt.

June Chess Camps

June 18 - 22: 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Rockville, Maryland, for intermediate students entering grades 4 - 9. $195 per week. Print flyer for this camp.

June 25 - 29: 9:00 a.m. - noon at Orange Hunt Elementary School in Springfield, Virginia, for less experienced (beginner to intermediate) students entering grades 2 - 7. $90 per week.

FULL! Please do not register. June 25 - 29: 1:00 - 4:00 at White Oaks Elementary School in Burke, Virginia, for more experienced (intermediate and advanced) students entering grades 2 - 7. $90 per week.

July Chess Camps

July 2 - 6: Full-day camp (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) at the U.S. Chess Center downtown. For intermediate and advanced students entering grades 4 - 9 who want to improve their skills at chess. Chess and other recreation. No camp July 4. $168 per week. Make checks payable to the US Chess Center and mail them to our Washington office. Print flyer for this camp.

July 9 - 13: 9:00 a.m. - noon at Louise Archer Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia, for beginner and intermediate students entering grades 2 - 7. $90 per week. ALMOST FULL

FULL! Please do not register. July 9 - 13: 1:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. at Haycock Elementary in Falls Church, Virginia, for more advanced students entering grades 2 - 7. $90 per week. We still are accepting names for the waiting list.

FULL! Please do not register. July 16 - 20: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Elementary School in McLean, Virginia, for beginner and intermediate students entering grades 2 - 7. $175 per week. Aftercare available until 5:00 p.m. for an additional $50. Confirmations all were e-mailed as of May 4. Waiting list names are still being accepted.

July 23 - 27: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Elementary School in McLean, Virginia, for intermediate and advanced students entering grades 4 - 9. $175 per week. Aftercare available until 5:00 p.m. for an additional $50.

August Chess Camps

July 30 - August 3: 9:00 a.m. - noon at Louise Archer Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia, for beginner and intermediate students entering grades 2 - 7. $90 per week. ALMOST FULL

August 13 - 17: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Belle View Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia, for beginner and intermediate students entering grades 2 - 7. $175 per week. Aftercare available until 5:00 p.m. for an additional $50.
