It is the early eighteenth
century. You are a pirate captain exploring the islands of
the Caribbean in search of fame and fortune. After months
at sea with your flotilla of sloops and brigantines, a cry
of "Land Ho!" from the crows nest means that you
are within sight of Treasure Island. The time has come to
drop anchor and venture ashore in search of buried treasure.
The only problem is that you are not alone in this quest.
Other Pirates are poised to stake their claim to the hidden
booty. Your challenge is to outwit your opponents to become
the most successful and notorious buccaneer on the Spanish
Main by collecting the most treasure.
- Treasure Island is the new game from British designer
Peter Burley. This is a well made game with lovely illustrations.
- It has a small board and large board for different sizes
of family gatherings or length of game. We've played this
with both two players and three players and it plays well
with both.
- Each move is varied and can involve the other players
so there's no sitting around waiting for your turn and the
result is not clear until the final reckoning.
