How to score a poker game  

High card
When there is no combination of cards the highest card wins. If there is a tie; highest cards match, the next card down is counted. Aces are high.
Odds 1-1, evens

A pair
Two cards of the same rank, the rest don’t match. If two players call a pair then the highest rank wins. If they have the same rank then the next highest single card in the hand is counted.
Odds 1.5 -1

Two pairs
If two players call two pairs the highest ranking single pair wins. If they are the same the second pair is counted and the highest rank wins. If both are exactly the same the highest odd card will win.
Odds: 20-1

Three of a kind
Three cards of the same rank and two unmatched. If two players call three of a kind the highest rank wins.
Odds: 46-1

Straight
Five cards in sequence that are not of the same suit. Aces can be high or low. If two players call a straight the highest ranking straight wins.
Odds 250-1

Flush
Five cards of the same suit but not in sequence. If two players call a flush the highest card wins. If they are the same the second highest wins, and so on.
Odds 500-1.

Full house
A triplet and a pair. If two players call a full house the highest triplet wins.
Odds 700-1

Four of a kind
Four cards of the same rank. The fifth is irrelevant.
Odds 4150-1

Straight flush
Five cards of the same suit in sequence. Ace can be low. The hand with the highest card wins.
Odds: 65,000 – 1.

Royal Flush
The ace high straight flush is a royal flush, this hand is unbeatable. The royal flush can be tied because no suit is worth more than another. In this unlikely event you can split the pot. Or see who draws the quickest!
Odds: 2,598,960 to 1.
