If  the dates/locations listed are not convenient for you, please fill up pre-enrollment application below.

What is PRE-ENROLLMENT?

  • Pre-enrolment application is an Enrollment Application submitted in advance at no cost or obligation to the applicant with added benefit of pre-enrollment bonus (set of fresco brushes). For us this is the first step in creating a "road map" for the American Fresco School, for you this is the first step to learn fresco painting technique at reasonable cost. This step is designed to minimize the workshop advertising and administration costs which is essential to keep the low cost of the tuition. When we collect 7-10 pre-enrollment applications for the same location we start/fund local advertising campaign through the appointed local organizer.  At this point we stop accepting pre-enrollment applications for that location and begin the enrollment process, your pre-enrollment application becomes an enrollment application and you will be invited to enroll. Tuition payment is due after the class is filled and the official date of the workshop for that location is scheduled.

  • PRE-ENROLL NOW AND SECURE YOUR BONUS GIFT!

FROM FRESCO GAZETTE

"Pere" Tanguy of Contemporary American Fresco
Massimo Zecchi paid shipping charges by the ton to have my fresco materials sent overseas, says iLia Annosov, founder of the Nationwide Fresco Painting Workshop Program, presently The Fresco School, located in Los Angeles California. The Fresco School is greatly possible due to the support of Massimo Zecchi. iLia continues, The United States does not have fresco materials available domestically. I wanted the best tools and with Zecchi help, I could afford to import the needed materials into the states. I could concentrate, thanks to Zecchi, on teaching and popularizing true fresco! Zecchi sent the orders first and allowed the fledgling Fresco School to pay later. Since those first gratis shipments in 1997, the Fresco School has grown to become the only year-round school of its kind and has taught hundreds of students from around the world the ancient technique of fresco art.

The Fresco School - New Fresco Renaissance
Believing that the resurrection and proliferation of fresco art to be his true mission in life, iLia Anossov established The Fresco School in 1997. He says, “the complex information bank and technological achievements of our age tempt and often force us to take a ‘short cut’ in visual arts education.” Consequently, although fresco is the most widely practiced art technique of all the ages since the beginning of human history, this endangered art form is not generally taught in mainstream universities or art schools and is often referred to as a lost or dying art. The Fresco School is designed to be accessible for anyone, both from beginners and children to professional artists. The program has attracted art educators and interested non-professionals from around the globe. The only year round school of it’s kind in the world, The Fresco School focuses the curriculum on an array of classes of the buon (true) fresco techniques of classic artists such as Michelangelo, Rafael and Diego Rivera. The Fresco School’s workshops and classes range from introductory to advanced, to private tutorials, fresco restoration and mural painting seminars as well as the unique opportunity to learn fresco plaster directly from Ian Hardwick.

A lost art found in the children of San Diego
iLia Anossov and his team of 3 assistants went to Diegueno Country School recently in San Diego to bring a full day of learning and practical experience of the most ancient of arts to 24 7th grade students. Studying the Italian Renaissance, the teachers decided to give their class a taste of actual experience of what it might have been like to be an artist in those times and to work with the materials and tools of the masters like Michelangelo and Raphael.

Modern Masterpiece - Ed Ruscha Monument is illegally destroyed!
This is just one of numerous quotes that were sent to the Fresco School's faculty member , Kent Twitchell, a muralist of Giant Proportion (figuratively and literally) to express support and community outrage towards the illegal destruction of the 9 story tall Ed Ruscha Monument.
