GameKnot clubs is the place where you can meet new friends, discuss things and play games. Club founder and club moderators are responsible for everything that happens in the club. The club founder can promote regular club members to moderator status, or take it back at any time. Moderators can approve or decline new club member applications, or remove anyone from the club for any reason. If you have a question about a club, please contact its founder or the club moderators. All clubs are subject to GameKnot Rules and Policies, that supersede any rules established by the club founder and its moderators.

GameKnot Clubs mini-FAQ:

Q: What can be discussed in a club forum?
Anything, as long as it is within GameKnot's Rules and Policies.

Q: What will happen if someone breaks the rules in a club?
Club founder is the one responsible for everything that happens in the club (although the club founder can appoint moderators to help out maintaining the club). Any forum posts that violate GameKnot's Rules and Policies have to be promptly deleted and an appropriate disciplinary action taken against the person who posted it (official warning, removal from the club, etc.). If the offending post isn't deleted within 24 hours after the club founder and moderators were informed about it, the club forum will be closed for new posts for 1 week on first occasion, 2 weeks for second violation, 3 weeks for third and so forth. There's no penalty if the offending post is deleted within 24 hours, unless the club founder/moderators are intentionally waiting until the last possible moment.

Q: Does this mean anyone can post anything they want as long as their post is deleted within 24 hours?
No, all GameKnot's Rules and Policies still apply, including account termination for multiple violations. There will be no penalty for the club itself if all offending posts are promptly taken care of.

Q: How many clubs can I join?
As many as you like. Only premium subscribers can be club members though.

Q: Is there an extra fee if I want to join a club?
No, the only requirement is a premium subscription (any level). There's a small annual club fee if you'd like to start a new club (designed to prevent creation of an excessive number of GameKnot clubs and to ensure vested interest in enforcing the rules by the club founder).

Q: What is the difference between teams and clubs?
One of the main differences is that teams are for groups of people to compete against other groups of people, whereas clubs are for interaction within a group of people. Although there's certainly nothing wrong with a team having their own club, and vice versa, a club can have their own team.

Q: At what point certain language violates GameKnot's "vulgarity" criteria?
A good guideline to determine whenever certain language is acceptable or not is whether you would repeat it in front of your 7-10 year old daughter (niece, granddaughter, friend's daughter, etc. etc.). Also, looking up words in the dictionary (here or here, for example) can help. "Vulgar", "obscene" or similar qualifiers in the definition is a good sign that a certain word shouldn't be used on GameKnot. If in doubt please simply consider using less offensive ways to convey the same meaning -- English language is pretty powerful that way.
