Mar-20-05   Karpova: Zhu Chen (born 3/16/1976)
She won the junior women world championship in 1994 and 1996. Zhu Chen became WGM in 1998 and won the WWCC in 2001 (beating Kosteniuk 5:3). Stefanova has been the reigning WWCC since 2004 because Zhu Chen didn't take part in the WWCC.

OneArmedScissor: I think it comes down to which wins are respected more. Generally speaking, classical games are more widely appreciated and respected. Consequently, this is the reason why most people only count classical games and not rapid or blitz.
Jul-04-05   chesswonders: A pretty pic!
Jul-06-05   Knight13: So she's the dang ol' girl who crushed Kosteniuk in the 2001 FIDE World Chess Championships: Women's Final (Zhu-Kosteniuk). Dang it! I wish Kosteiniuk won!
Sep-03-05   WTHarvey: Here are some puzzles from Zhu's games: http://www.wtharvey.com/zhu.html
Jan-30-06   sitzkrieg: Fan of Leko; are u the same as the Fan of Leko on the playchess server?
Jan-31-06   sitzkrieg: If u are, u should stop doing the lag trick in lost positions 1/0. Thats called cheating in my book.
Feb-01-06   Fan of Leko: I don't even play 1 min Sitz, way too fast for me. Must be different Leko fan (Peter has millions of fans worldwide).
Feb-01-06   Fan of Leko: I wonder what happened to my first message to the adorable Zhu Chen. Must be someone at <chessgame.com> want her for themself.
Feb-01-06   sitzkrieg: Ok but you should get a patent on ur name for someone very bad is using it at playchess.

Mar-09-06   dakgootje: Very nice picture!

*Coughs*.....ah yes, she plays nice also, strange how you forget sometimes something ;-)

Mar-25-06   Peter Yang: From some Chinese news website i find last week, it is saided that Zhu Chen had married a foreign guy (not sure if he play chess). She have left china already, and possibly give up Chinese citizenship
Mar-25-06   Mameluk: The foreign guy is famous Qatarian GM Al-Modiahki and I believe she wants to represent Qatar in the future and these repre- problems are the reason she did not play WWC 2006.
May-09-06   hellopolgar: http://schach.wienerzeitung.at/tnr3...

she will be playing for Qatar in the up coming olympiad chess.

(i read about it on Susen Polgar's blog)

Jul-27-06   14 Dog Knight: I wouldn't mind looking up and seeing Zhu Chen on the other side of the board like that...
Aug-02-06   NOKRO: <14 Dog Knight: I wouldn't mind looking up and seeing Zhu Chen on the other side of the board like that...>

I remember seeing picture of the late GM Anthony Miles playing tournament chess at exactly the same pose.

Aug-08-06   PinkPanther: LOL, priceless.
Jan-31-07   Dr.Lecter: She looks younger than her age. I guessed she was 25 or so. But then, I'm horrible at guessing ages.
Feb-05-07   Ashram64: <Dr.Lecter: She looks younger than her age. I guessed she was 25 or so. But then, I'm horrible at guessing ages.> She's Asian! all asians look 10yrs younger their age once they hit middle ages..

percyblakeney: Zhu Chen is having a bad tournament in Dubai. First she lost with white against 2100 opposition, and today against a 2300 opponent (far from her recent beating of close to 2700 Georgiev with black in Gibraltar).

Jun-14-07   Karpova: 9th Dubai Open 2007 22nd April to 1st May 2007

Zhu Chen got 6.0 points but only had a performance of 2402 (rating of 2531) so the rating change was -11.6. She reached 24th place (seeded 15th place)

Aug-05-07   Dr.Lecter: <ashram> thank you. I am an asian myself.
