That’s a pretty solid number for a bowling team! Congrats, Chad! His team, the Angel Mafia, raised nearly a quarter of the entire haul during the Bowling for Angels fund raiser! ...
The Arkansas Literary Festival has come to a close - well at least for Chad and I anyway. The actual festivities themself go on for an hour or so more.
It was so much fun to work this year’s Festival. This is not only the first year Chad and I have worked the Festival, but it is also the first year we have attended. Having volunteered for so many events, I can honestly say that I believe this is the most organized I have ever seen an event that requests volunteers. As an observer, it seemed as if everything fell correctly ...
Chad and I just returned from the Pub or Parish event of the Arkansas Literary Festival. Pub or Parish, sponsored by the Arkansas Times, is held at The Peabody Little Rock and allows authors to read to an attentive audience. The podium is open to not only the festival authors, but also local authors who were not originally part of the Festival.
Immediately following Pub or Parish, Oxford American stages an afterparty and literary quiz show. It was getting late and after a long day on our feet, Chad and I called it quits during ...
As mentioned in my previous post, the Clinton Presidential Library had an Earth Day Festival today. Chad got some video of the dancers I had just posted a picture on and so I wanted to share the video. These girls were really fun to watch and they were fantastic at what they were doing.

Oh and just to show that even more events were going on than Chad and I even knew about, Representative Steve Harrelson has coverage of some of his weekend activities in ...
The daytime events of the Arkansas Literary Festival are slowly winding down. Having just finished attending A King of Poetry Tells All with Miller Williams and Letha Encounters of the Past with Hampton Sides, Chad and I are starting to get tired. However, we have so enjoyed spending the day downtown. Great food, great desserts, great people. Oh and Little Red Riding Hood…
Can you tell that Chad and I are pretty much just children at heart. I’ll have more later.

Having had a delicious lunch courtesy of the food vendors inside the River Market, Chad and I were off to tackle the rest of the events today. Unfortunately, it is getting a little humid outside; however, it is not dampering anyones spirit. The crowd out in the East Pavilion of the River Market was packed when Rena Wren and Laura Lynn were performing. Though I’m not a 100% certain which one was which, here’s a picture of one of them:
Also, Chad got to stop and get his picture made with Mother Goose when we ran into her again just a ...
The Arkansas Literary Festival kicked off fabulously with the Martini Reception with the Authors. The event, held at the Junior League of Little Rock Headquarters, was a packed house that showcased the artists who are going to be around town this weekend for the festival.
Chad and I took tons of pictures of the event and met many artists and other random people. Almost everyone was absolutely fantastic and it was such a pleasure to meet them all. Of course one of the ones I could not wait to meet was Frank Warren of PostSecret.com. Having been ...
The Arkansas Literary Festival (ALF) kicks off in Little Rock tonight. Every year the Festival affords to the people of Arkansas the opportunity to be up close and personal to some of their favorite authors. This weekend is filled with one-on-ones, group meetings, purchase and autograph opportunities, children’s events, and much more. This is mine and Chad’s first year of being a part of the Festival, and we could not be more excited. Both Chad and myself with serve as 2 of the 3 photographers covering the event for the Festival.
Along with all the free events, there are a few ...
