Welcome to Jacksonville, Texas!
Located in the rolling hills of East Texas, Jacksonville has always greeted its visitors with warmth and hospitality. We take pride in our scenic overlooks, strong industrial growth, recreational parks and state of the art baseball and soccer complexes.

Jacksonville was given the honor many years ago as being the "Tomato Capital of the World", producing the largest, reddest, sweetest tomatoes, shipped by rail from rows of tomato sheds lining the tracks. Modern day has put a stop to the sheds, but not to our annual "TOMATO FEST" celebration in June, when we turn downtown into a festival of events and sights.

For a thrilling time, we are proud of our "TOPS IN TEXAS RODEO" held in July of each year. A parade kicks off four nights of the finest in professional cowboys. Each night is highlighted by some of the biggest country music singers in the nation.

Our newest park, Nichols Green with three completed phases, totaling approximately 150 acres, has athletic fields, pavilions with barbeque grills, tennis courts, disc golf and nature trails peacefully taking you by natural majestic waterfalls.

Lake Jacksonville, approximately three miles from downtown Jacksonville, built in the late 1950s as the City's main water source, comprises 25 miles of shoreline around the 1,325 acre lake. Lake Jacksonville has become an outstanding recreational area, well known for fishing, skiing, camping and outdoor living.

We invite you to take a tour through our city and countryside by browsing through our web pages, bringing you closer to the "Star of East Texas".
