Mario Tennis Online?

Could be. And just in time for the next generation...
Thanks to a tip from IGN, we headed over to Nintendo's press site to discover that Mario Tennis will apparently support the broadband adapter. Now, before you get too excited, they don't exactly specify whether it will be LAN or online compatible, but our money is with LAN.
Speculation that this could mark the beginning of Nintendo's online campaign seems a bit farfetched as this generation of console wars seems to be nearing its end; not to mention Nintendo's repeated mantra of "Online bad, online bad." However, Mario Tennis is not set to release until 2005, and Nintendo has pulled a few surprises out of its sleeve lately (Zelda anyone?).
We'll have to wait and see.
