I was taken by surprise by this game. I have played many windows versions of checkers and none of them come close to this game. Very hard to beat, even for a master checkers player. It is impeccable at avoiding traps and astoundingly creative in setting up traps, a quality I have never found in a checkers software of any kind. This program fails in only one area, in that it lacks the human desire to win and is content with a draw. It will bring you to a draw every time because it lacks the desire or the knowledge to get you out of a double corner. The one thing that really impressed me about this game is it's random AI. Most software being digital in nature will react to any given situation based on predefined parameters or a mathematical equation, which means it will always do the same thing. I have tested this game by using the exact same sequence of moves multiple times and have observed the game use multiple different reactions to the same moves. I find this utterly amazing for such a small program. The bottom line is that if you are a good checkers player, you will love this game. If you are a poor or so so checkers player you are going to hate it because it's going to cream you every time.

Very nice checkers software. Smooth gameplay, easy-on-the-eyes colors, and classic graphics. I have yet to find a fatal bug.

Excellent game with one exception. First, other complaints about having to jump pieces are flawed because the rules of checkers are that you must jump if able. That's what makes the game. However, the rules also say that if you cannot move you lose. The code has a tendency (when losing) to play for positions where it cannot move, thinking that this is a draw. Other than that, this game is great.

Great game! It's set up so that if you can jump a piece, you have to jump. It makes for a challenging and addictive game. Ability to step backward and forward thru game is great feature.

The game is good, but it sucks that you have to move where the palm tells you to move even when there is another move available.

Nice game. but just one problem, when the computer moves so you can jump a peice the game forces you to move there even if you don't want to. Using palm m105.

I have no problem using this game - instructions are given! Small footprint makes it ideal for lower end Palms without much memory (e.g. M100) - well done. Any chance of a color version soon??

Nice checkers game. Draughts are for 10x10 game, Checkers is 8x8. The best freeware game for draughts (and for Palm) is "Dam" from Harm Jetten.

This is really hard to work. It took me three new games to finally figure it out. The game of checkers is fun, but I get tired of playing this. Some kids just wanna play checkers without practically playing for the opponent.

Only briefly tried this and it is not very obvious how to get it to play past a couple of moves. However once you have done this it plays a reasonable game. I would have rated it higher if it wasn't so akward to get it to play.

This looks like it will eventually be fun, for now -- I can't use it. I was unable to get beyond the first pair of moves. Trying an "illegal" move (to see if I could get a hint of what I was doing wrong) caused my Visor Neo to reset.
