Description:
Solitaire Poker is a simple and addictive card game. It is a solitaire in which poker hand scores must be obtained.
It provides large, highly recognisable cards, smooth animations and plenty of game statistics.
You can play either with your stylus or through the hardware buttons on your handheld.
It runs on all Palm OS devices, both color and black & white. Solitaire Poker is Palm OS 5 enhanced!
And, of course, it's freeware!
A brief game description follows:
- Four columns are to be completed with five cards each. The goal of the game is to achieve the best poker hand in each column. The first row is filled automatically, then tap on one of the columns to place the next card. You cannot begin a new row of cards before completing the previous row. You go on until all four columns have five cards. Then your final score is calculated.
- In the 'Statistics' screen the three best scores with date and time stamps, the worst score, the overall number of games played and the average score per game are shown.

Feb-19-2004 Version 2.0:
- Improved graphics, now also in high resolution (for handhelds equipped with a 320x320 screen and Palm OS 5.0 or later)
- Date and time are now recorded for the three best scores in the 'Statistics' screen (suggested by Marco Scioscia)
- Now you can see the best possible score by tapping on the 'Best play' button at the end of the game (suggested by sMyles)
Note: for optimum performance, this calculation is executed in native ARM code on handhelds equipped with an ARM processor and Palm OS 5.0 or later

Awesome game! Definetely a download. I am still spending hours on this game; in the first day of 77 games I had a highscore of 1190, average of 348, and low of 60. Don't do the "Best Play" thing though, it takes about 5 minutes on my palm. Download it!

I just tried the game. Played an hour or 2. It's fun. Balance of good choices and luck, just like poker. High Score 2040,not bad for a beginner!

Game plays well. I like it a lot. Some enhancements I'd like to see in a future release:
1) Have the game figure out what the highest possible score for the hand would have been had the cards been played differently; a relatively small undertaking since the cards are already out.
2) The ability to swap one or more pairs of cards within one or more rows when the game is over.
3) The option of having the fourth card in a row automatically place itself.

This game has an amazingly simple concept, and one that works very well. It's one of my favorite Palm games right now. When I hit a score of 1340, I felt really proud of myself. (Straight flushes rock!) I play it more often than that poker game with the male stripper!

Highly addictive game. I played 100 games instead of working. My average is 315 with a high game of 1560 and a low of 40.

Excellent! This is the first game since Bejeweled that has addicted me. VERY addictive! Fun to play, easy to understand, and you just can't help but start a new game! After checking your statistics, of course... My average is 309 (after 70 games) -- what's yours??

Great game! Very simple, easy to read instructions, and a very small program. Like the fact it keeps track of your highest/worst scores, how many games you played, and your total points. Also, as a Clear button. VERY NICE!
