Description:
S.A.M. is a Springs and Masses model editor that lets you create and play with dynamic sam models, save/load them in/from the memo (and thus exchange the models with friends).
Update Description:
v2.3:
- New Features: when not in 'autoreverse mode', displays a random landscape.
- Added a new quite efficient model named 'weird'.
v2.0:
- New Features: alls colors can be changed :-)
v1.8.3:
- Bug fixes: a small memory leak.
- New features: sticky masses; when selecting a mass as the origin or target for a spring, uses the mass coordinates to anchor the spring. More cool models...
v1.8.2 - New Features:
- Copy/Cut/Select is cool, but it's better if you can move a model as a whole by doing a translation :-)
v1.3.2:
- Bug Fixes: the Zoom init was badly handled.
- New Features: A 'delete' button has been added to the 'Load World' form, so that the user can get rid of worlds without going
v1.3.1:
- Bug Fixes Only: Zoom now really zoom (it wasn't actually modifying the springs' size). Once loaded, a world's name is kept (was reset to 'untitled'.
v1.2:
- Bug fixes: mass deletion wasn't working properly yet.
- New Features: When creating a 'New World', a dialog pops up that prompts the user for world settings reset confirmation (gravity, friction, stiffness and frequency).
v1.1:
- Bugs fixes: many... The data structures have been simplified and this version should be hopefully more stable.
- New Features: Autoreverse.

It's pretty cool, yet I also can't get the models it came with.... hmmmm

In theory a cool program, just two things: 1) the time pauses when you try to move a model in action, therefore making the movement imediate, it would be great if it was one uniform motion. 2) while this is probably just me, I can't seem to get it to load any of the models that it came with

Cool. A suggestion... the models are a bit hard to see on the screen, so maybe allow customisation of the fg and bg colours in a preferences form. And maybe make the help a bit easier to find!

Awesome! Very fun. Cool capability of saving to memos, you can beam them. Only, thing, not very compatible with older palms.

I tried it on a friend's palm. It works great, but there are so many people out there who don't have OS5 devices.

I would rate this five stars, but it isn't for Palm OS 4.1 or down. I would rate it five stars if that happens. The site you were talking about Benedict was the soda constructor. :)

Actually, there are two things I've noticed: deleting often causes my palm to lock up, and I have to wait for it to reset. Also, it doesn't really update fast enough when you drag in play mode, so the model tends to end up distorted.

Cool, it's like the thing, on the website, oh I know what I mean, anyway it's awesome.

Brilliant! A bit confusing at first, but I got the hang of it quickly. A few problems putting the sample files onto the palm though (bouncer, empty world for example) - perhaps you could export them all as a memopad archive (mpa)? Lastly, this looks strangely familiar to a certain webpage. But that's a good thing.
