Description:
This application provides Read-Only VFS support for almost all applications.
Every time an application is launched, it looks in /Palm/Launcher/MemHack/appname/ (where appname is the application's name) and copies any files in that directory into memory. When the application finishes, it deletes any databases it may have copied, or that were already there but are also in that directory.
Use your SD card or Memory Stick to store large databases for applications without native VFS support.
Updates:
- Redid the sources to build under OnBoardC (available from onboardc.sf.net)
- Removed MidCapsHack from the compiled code (can be re-enabled if you re-compile)
- Enabled user to change the directory to search in
- Added Memory card event disabling capabilities (e.g. Auto Switch to Launcher and auto-starting)
- Changed program to a preference panel instead of an app
If you need a reference implementation of a preference panel, the code is there.
The panel should behave well on most platforms available on the market.
Solved the "MemoryMgr.c, Line:3583, Free handle." error.
This was due to applications deleting the databases before we could delete them ourselves.
MemHack now tracks deletions of databases to avoid this error.
Know Bugs:
- Code not commented well
- Will *not* work in PalmOS 6 Cobalt
This is due to the removal of the AppStart and AppStop notifications.
It is currently unknown if the card events have been removed from PalmOS 6
