Arcade Games

Thanks to the blistering speed of Spectrum BASIC and the sophisticated palette of colours available to programmers, arcade quality games have long been a staple part of the influx of CSSCGC entries. Here's a few of the top titles that have gone before:

Burp Man - By Mr Scratcher

All the fun of the original Midway coin-op is brought to your home by this spot-on arcade from the talented Mr Scratcher. Okay, so it only has half as many ghosts in this version and the maze is a little different to how many players will remember it. And the screen update is lousy - but otherwise it's nigh-on perfect.

Apart from the graphics. And the sound.

Whale Hunt - By Putneyman

This is a version of the classic title, Depth Charge. Only in this version you're on top and it's up to you kill a bothersome whale. The most outstanding feature of this game is the epic movie-length FMV intro that accompanies it... It's just like watching Moby Dick on the cheap!

Valley Racer 3D - By Matthew Smith

If you've still got those 3D glasses from when you rented A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 6 then at last it's time to dust them off and get ready for the thrill-ride of a lifetime. In this game you play the driver of a car speeding down a valley and you'll need all of your lightning reflexes to avoid ending up looking like a royal tart in a Paris underpass. Good luck!
