05/21/06 The Free Internet Correspondence Games Server is now available (FICGS).

07/13/03 Convekta has released an electronic version of the "Comprehensive Chess Endings" books by Averbach, you can find more information at their online shop. You can also find some screen shots at www.chessassistance.com, in advance of an upcoming review. 

06/18/03 DGT has a new clock out, called the DGT XL, it should be available soon. See www.dgtprojects.com for more info; there is also a flash animation and info at www.dgtxl.com. Among the new features are larger displays, and the ability to communicate with PC programs through the DGT board (for time synchronization purposes).

06/01/03 Aaron Tay recently posted to USENET that there are some problems with the Chessmaster 9000 endgame databases. He has made corrected database files, which are available for download (or you can regenerate them yourself with FEG). Aaron's site can be found here, and the corrected files can be downloaded from here.
