***New !! Now shipping !!*** Chess Tiger 2004 by Christophe Thιron is the long awaited successor of Chess Tiger 15. This version is nearly twice as fast as the previous version. In addition to the increase in speed more chess knowledge has been added, most notably endgame knowledge. The program still has four different playing styles and comes with a large hand tuned book by Jeroen Noomen. Includes the latest ChessPartner interface.

  Results

To give some idear over the improvements made we have collected a number test postions which clearly show the difference between Chess Tiger 2004 and CT 15. Main area of improvement are its speed which has nearly doubled and its stronger endgame play. For games see the next page.

WMT53, best move Bh6. In this one Chess Tiger 2004 finds the right move in 8 seconds / ply 12, then changed its mind to find it again after 4 minutes / ply 16. CT15 takes more then 10 minutes / ply 18 to solve it.

In the very hard Nolot set, position nr. 10, Chess Tiger 2004 finds the right move in 45 secs, but CT15 cannot find it after 20 mins.

Here it is yet another nice position in which Chess Tiger 2004 largely surpasses CT15. (A clever king maneuver!). Took from BS2830, n. 15: Best move Kg3. Chess Tiger 2004: 2min 45sec; CT15: 17min 1sec (both at ply 15).
