Fritz is basically the standard engine for tournament players, and for good reason.  It has a great interface, and while it may be confusing when you first start, as you get used to it you will come to love it.  I use it extensively in going over my games, and it has helped me out a lot.  I also practice specific opening lines against the computer quite a bit, which is good for those who enjoy playing tactical openings.  If you make a mistake, Fritz WILL punish you :).  Lastly, one of my favorite things about this program is it comes with a 1 year subscription to Playchess.com!
