I found this hard to crack.  Finally got frustrated and started checking every move.  It was clear, of course, once I got it!

I got it fairly quickly, but I was wondering what would happen on 6. Bg6 pinning the queen to the king intead of rook check.  I undersatnd that the rook way is fater but bg6 seems to work as well.  Oh, and the move Bendcat suggested seems to hold also.

I agree. I wanted to do 6. Bg6 ...Qxg6, 7. Qxg6 ...Kd8, 8. Rxe6, then force mate with Rook and Queen. Great puzzle!

Good puzzle but why didn't Black go 2. Nxg7 instead of 2... Rxd4 ?

to deep for me, i wanted to sac a N or 2 for mate. after i saw the 1st move i saw the point: Black's Q is unprotected. White threatens mate & a discovered check.

Why can't 7... Kd8 or 7... Kc8 at the end?
