The Power of Two Rooks on the 7th

Rooks always work best together! In fact, it is often worth it to sacrifice a pawn or more to get two rooks together on the 7th rank. Check out the following example:

Bc8 looks much better than Nb4. It drives off the enemy Rook and defends c7

having both rooks on 7th file is potentially potent but requires a strong defence against an instant counterattack on your king, note in this example the king was well protected therefore freeing the rooks from having to double up as 1st rank protectors.. of course the black side could also be faulted for not developing its rooks at all.. overall a good simplified example to stress an important point
