With Poly (Long Beach, Calif.) and Jenks (Okla.) falling last week, two spots opened in this week's top 10.

Claiming those positions are Roswell (Ga.), which improved to 2-0 after handling Lassiter, and Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.), which has shown an explosive offense.

On Saturday in Dallas, it's the game of the year as No. 2 Northwestern faces No. 1 Carroll (Southlake, Texas) at SMU.

The Dragons weren't looking ahead to their showdown with Northwestern as they opened the season with a 42-10 romp over Lake Highlands.
2 2
Northwestern (Miami) (2-0)
The Bulls looked vulnerable with six turnovers in a 28-18 win over Homestead, but a talented offense (QB Jacory Harris; WR Aldarius Johnson) should regroup for the Carroll showdown.
3 3
St. Xavier (Cincinnati) (3-0)
The Bombers continue to play well without star tailback Darius Ashley (ankle). Next on the nation's toughest schedule is Trinity (Louisville) at home.
4 4

5 5
Katy (Texas) (2-0)
The Tigers enjoy off week after a 48-7 win over the Woodlands last Saturday.
6 6
Northside (Warner Robins, Ga.) (2-0)
North Clayton's stingy defense will challenge the Eagles' air attack. QB Marques Ivory threw for 265 yards in last week's 34-7 win over Warner Robins (Ga.).
7 9
Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) (1-0)
An opening 17-7 win over Canyon (Anaheim, Calif.) last week showed the Knights' toughness. Host Lynwood (Calif.) should present less of a challenge on Friday.

The Mustangs, who boast Notre Dame recruit and weak-side defensive end Darius Fleming, renew a Catholic league rivalry with powerful Mt. Carmel on Friday.
9 11
