Editor in Chief
Shooting Illustrated editor in chief Dave Campbell joined the NRA Publications team in March 2001, and brings more than three decades of hunting and shooting experience to the job.
   Campbell started freelance writing in 1995 and had an outdoor radio show in Fresno, California, for two years. In 1997 he took the Hunting Editor position at Western Outdoor News, a southern California weekly hunting and fishing newspaper. Two years later he joined the staff of Petersen’s Hunting as an associate editor.
   A self-proclaimed gypsy, Campbell spent most of his adult life living throughout the western United States doing everything from fur trapping and gunsmithing to being a police officer in a small Wyoming town.
