Suggested ReadingAbout ShoppingProlific Chess WritersWriters who have produced a whopping share of chess book titles.(December 2004) Like most subjects, chess has its honor roll of prolific writers. These are authors who have written much about the game, mainly in chess books and chess magazine columns. On this page, we list book writers. We looked at a few sources of book information and derived a list of chess writers who have produced a whopping share of chess book titles. Since our list was produced on writer's surname, you will see two names each representing more than one writer : Lasker and Polgar. We decided to leave these names on our list to flag that there might be some confusion about who has written what. Click any writer's name to read reviews and compare prices for that author. If you're not sure where to start, we've listed one title for each author that we think is representative of the author's work. Books go in and out of print frequently. If your selection isn't available today, you might want to try again at a later date. Don't forget : Quantity is no guarantee of quality. Before you buy a particular book, read the reviews for that book and for the author's other books and make sure that it's exactly what you wanted. *** Aagaard, Jacob Excelling at Chess Alburt, Lev Comprehensive Chess Course Alekhine, Alexander My Best Games of Chess (two volumes) Alexander, C.H.O'D (Conel Hugh O'Donel Alexander) Learn Chess Averbakh, Yuri Chess Endings Essential Knowledge Avni, Amatzia Danger in Chess Barden, Leonard How Good Is Your Chess?
