It's a great book, I have nothing but praise for it. It's helped me a lot, and I haven't even finished it yet. An annotation of every move, and diagrams every 8-9 moves. Definitely worth every penny.

I read this over 40 years ago, and it's still one of the best books for the player just past the beginning stage. Some new books that are similar and equally good are Understanding Chess: Move by Move by John Nunn, Chess: The Art of Logical Thinking by Neil McDonald and Unbeatable Chess Lessons by Robert Snyder.
