There are going to be a lot of people out there with a lot less free time once Rome: Total War hits shelves. This was one title above all others that I wanted to get some hands-on time with at E3. While there wasn’t a playable demo, I did see a demonstration that, when I wasn’t ogling the toga-clad booth babe behind me, was enough to insure that I would be picking up this game as soon as possible. I didn’t see much of the world map of which much has been said, but what I did see confirmed what has been said about a topographical approach to borders. This, along with the move to 3D units on the battlefield, means that strategy fans will be spending a lot of sleepless nights trying to conquer the ancient world. - Tim Eller |
