Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com gift certificates can be used to purchase almost anything in our store, including most items sold by Marketplace sellers and Amazon Merchants (except The Bombay Company, Circuit City, Eddie Bauer, Newport News, Nordstrom, Spiegel, and Ultimate Outlet Brands). For more information, see the Fine Print above. Sending E-mail Gift Certificates: When sending e-mail gift certificates, please be aware that some e-mail programs may block or even delete e-mail messages which originate from an address not specified by the recipient as an accepted address. All Amazon.com e-mail gift certificates are sent from gc-orders@a2zgiftcerts.amazon.com. If you are concerned that your recipient may have e-mail filters turned on, you may want to send or reissue the gift certificate to your own e-mail address and then forward it to them or print it out to give to them. Redeeming Gift Certificates: When you enter the certificate's claim code for the first time, the certificate is automatically redeemed onto your account, and this information is logged into our database, even if you don't place an order at that time. After you have entered the claim code once, you do not need to enter it again--even if you back up and change other information in the course of placing your order. If you receive an error message that the gift certificate has been redeemed, and the funds are not being applied to your order, it could be that you have more than one Amazon.com account, and that the funds are redeemed to one of your other accounts. Questions about purchasing or using a gift certificate can be sent through our Contact Us form online.

Not sure what the problem with Gift Certificates is. I thought I hadn't received it, but found out that somehow I accidentally deleted it without looking at it... Love that I can save my GC in my account and use it whenever without having to try to save the email with the info! Very useful!

WHY CAN'T YOU BUY MP3'S WITH GIFT CERTIFICATES?, October 21, 2007
By W. Steele "Wil" (San Diego, CA USA) - See all my reviews

I'll admit that I didn't read the fine print but, you should make it CLEAR that you can't buy MP3's with Amazon gift certificates or enable us to buy MP3's. I bought my daughter a gift certificate so she could buy the MP3's that she wants with out needing my credit card for EVERY SONG (which is another headache). So thanks Amazon for making it clear before I went and bought this c#$%^py gift certificate for my daughter I'm sure you just made a customer for life in her as well.

Will not be purchasing..., October 17, 2007
By Charles Lehardy (Tucson, AZ, USA) - See all my reviews

I am very thankful that I read the full terms and conditions on the Gift Certificates before I bought one because it saved me from wasting money. As other people have stated, Amazon Gift Certificates are not good for anything that is downloaded. This includes Amazon's MP3 and Unbox services.

I don't understand the motives for not allowing MP3 and Unbox downloads to be purchased with a Gift Certificate, but I do know that it will keep me from giving MP3 downloads as a gift this Christmas. It would be great if Amazon changed their policy, but until then do be aware of those restrictions.

Why can't I just print it out?, October 7, 2007
I'd like to be able to print out the gift certificate on my printer without amazon sending an email to spoil the surprise, but it looks like I can't do this. Why not?

Great Experience, October 7, 2007
I ordered the gift certificate for myself using a Visa gift card that I had (FYI - I did this b/c you can't use both a Visa g/c + a credit card to pay for a purchase). I had the amazon gift certificate sent to my own email which I received the same day within hours of placing the order. I had no problems with the purchase or receipt of the g/c from start to finish.

Payment Methods We Accept

The Amazon MP3 Music Downloads store uses the 1-Click ordering method, which requires a Debit Card or Credit Card as the payment method. Payment methods such as Pay Directly from Your Bank Account, checks, Gift Certificates, or promotional certificates are not accepted for Amazon MP3 Music orders.

Cant really blame anyone but yourself.

It took itunes something like a year and a half before Gift cards where accepted.

Just step up and read before you buy.

Wonderfull!!!, September 30, 2007
I have to admit I was some what afraid to purchase a gift certificate do to all the negative feedback. I decided to give it a chance since I already had a great customer service experience here at Amazon. I must say I was far from disappointed. I chose a gift certificate by e-mail and it arrived within one hour. I will defiantly use this service again!

Great, September 29, 2007
I've had gift certificates sent to me and they have arrived in as little as 10 minutes and as long as 6 hours. Still, they do say a few hours so it was expected.

I've got to say, I was nervous after seeing all of the other bad reviews. I thought I would stay on top of it. Sent the gift certificate at 3:00 to my nephew. Let my brother know to be on the look out and check junk mail file etc. By 5 he e-mailed me saying it was there. Really pleased.
