When I search on *.doc, Microsoft feature bloat (in XP) causes my search results to return not only *.doc, but also any *.zip files with word docs in them. Wouldn't be a problem, but when I select them all and try to copy them to my external hard drive, I get an error, because it has a special bug up its butt about copying from multiple zip files. #1: I don't want zip files in the results at all, #2: I can't copy and/or delete all zip files by doing a *.zip search for the same special bug up butt reason (gives an error that it can't read the source drive). Therefore, I, a software developer with over 10 years of experience, cannot manage to backup my word documents onto a drive without using some stinking custom software??? I'm about to write my own stinking program to navigate my hard drive and copy the files where I want them...this is absurd.
I'm hoping someone knows how to do this through Windows Explorer because Norton Ghost 2003 blew up for some other reason.

When you upload your photos from a day of shooting, how do you organize the files? Do you move them to folders by date, place or subject? I'm having a tough time keeping track of them. I use Photoshop and have Adobe Bridge, but they still need to be organized initially and that's where I'm stumped. Any good ideas?

Specifically, can someone include a link in their question or answer which would, when you click on it, give your computer a virus? How about in a PM or complement they might send you? Is there ANY way someone can deliberately and maliciously send you a virus, etc? If so, how do you protect against it?

I've tried B-Safe online, used the free version of AVG, and now have just bought a new computer with a trial version of Norton. Being that this is a new computer, I'd like to do my best to protect it. Any suggestions, recommendations? Thanks for your hellp!!!

My computer came with Windows Premium preinstalled. I have an upgrade DVD for Ultimate, the upgrade process goes on for about an hour, gathering information, copying files, expanding files, rebooting, as it gets about 95% done via the green bar at the bottom of the upgrade screen, it comes up with a install Windows screen that says: 'Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation.' I did this twice same result. Could it be i'm trying to install from the HD-DVD? I have all my updates, I ran the Update Advisor twice and both times it says everything is ok to upgrade. I have 450GB free, 4GB ram, 2.13 dual core 2 processor and nothing running. Any advice as to what to do? Help I dont want to be out the money for the upgrade. Thanks
